My son has sensitive skin, so sweaters and sweatshirts often bother him. I think he’d be much more comfortable wearing one of these undershirts sold by Little Loungers under his clothing. Made of 100% cotton, these undershirts are soft and durable. They come in a three-pack and are currently on sale for $12.57 (regularly $17.95) at LittleLoungers.com.
Instead of using the same old plastic tubs and totes for storage, why not consider a sweet felt house to put your child’s things in? 12” x 8” and great for all the little cars, dollies, pretend food, and other things that get underfoot, the hand made Houses are on sale for $52.99 (down from $69.99.) The great thing about these is that they’re even machine washable, which is always a good thing when children are involved. I love the little decorative felt flowers and climbing ivy adorning the houses. I think I’d keep all those books that gather next to rocking chairs and beds in our house in these lovely little storage houses from www.littletreehouse.ca.

If you are like us, you are watching the horrible pictures coming out of Haiti and wondering how to help. There are a number of different organizations soliciting donations and some scams, so it’s important to know which you can trust.
After some digging on the internet, I came up with a list of 3 relief organizations with a rock-solid reputation for integrity and efficiently distributing aid in times of crisis.
My family gave our donation to Partners in Health.
1. The American Red Cross:

If price is no object in your quest for the ultimate diaper bag, you might want to consider The Nanny Bag by Jamah. This lightweight diaper bag made of Italian leather has been seen on the arm of celebrity moms such as Jessica Alba and even celeb dads like Brad Pitt, so you know it’s versatile. It is advertised as a unisex diaper bag, and measures 10.5″h x 15.5″w x 4″d. If you purchase this diaper bag, most likely it will be the last bag you ever purchase. It better be, as it runs $695 each at Jamah.com.

Finding socks that fit a toddler’s feet can be frustrating. Their feet are just too big for baby-sized socks, but too small for regular youth-sized socks. These socks are not only toddler-sized, but also look fun to wear. The artwork of Todd Bratrud is featured on these Volcom Kids Sock Puppet pack of 6 pairs of socks. They are designed to fit toddler boys’/little kids’ shoe sizes 9-12. Each sock is a different sock puppet character, and the socks are made of 70% cotton, 20% spandex, 5% nylon, and 5% rubber. You can purchase this set of 6 socks, which would also make a great gift, at Zappos.com for $48.

The Cariboo Earth Puretec Blanket was recently featured as one of CookieMag.com’s Daily Finds. Cariboo Puretec Earth’s blankets are made of 100% wool and use natural earth tones. They are described by the manufacturer to be the first nursery blankets that are hypo-allergenic, anti-prickle and anti-itch, eco-dye colored and formaldehyde free, naturally fire-retardant, and environmentally sustainable.
The blankets are available in cream, pink, blue, or sage. Each large blanket measures 44″ x 48″ and sells for $159.95 at babyearth.com. It might sound pricey, but for a blanket with all of these features that will last for your entire child’s baby and childhood, possibly even becoming a hand-me-down to your grandchildren, it is probably worth the price.

This is such an innovative idea that when I saw it, I had to read more about it. The Boon Bug Pod looks like a toy but actually stores bath toys. It’s more than just a storage area, however. The pod has a drainable scoop to collect and rinse toys, plus a wall-mounted base to store them. You can use the enclosed adhesive strips or screws to mount the Boon Bug Pod to the wall. All of this will help to keep mold and mildew to a minimum, an important consideration when dealing with your child’s health and well-being while having fun in the bathtub.
The Boon Bug Pod seems like a vast improvement over the mesh bag that attaches to the bathtub wall with suction cups that I currently use to store bath toys, which is constantly falling off the wall. The Boon Bug Pod measures 11″ x 17″ x 7 1/2″ and sells for $35.99 at KangarooBoo.com.

Though certainly a luxury item and made for the upscale baby, Chic Baby Fragrance is a ridiculous item for babies. No baby should wear his or her own perfume or cologne. Babies smell lovely and wonderful all on their own. What is a product of this sort meant for? The child whose parents can’t be bothered to bathe him or her?
Touted as non-allergenic and good for 6 months on up, the 1.7 ounce bottle of baby scent sells for $49 a bottle at babyoliverboutique.com and makes me wonder what is going on in the head of the Love Chic Baby designers!

When my daughter was in sixth grade she went with her class on a weekend camping trip up to Camp Tatapochon. When I was packing her bag I put together “outfits” so that all she had to do was pick one. She did get a little ribbing from her cousin (who was in her class) but it actually made things easier for her. So you know I like this Mini Makeover 2-Piece Baby Spare Clothing Kit by Babysparewear.
This would be useful for when you’re going on an outing where you don’t want to take a fully-packed diaper bag but you still want to be prepared for changes. Maybe you’re not planning on spending the whole day at grandma’s but just in case the day runs into the evening, you’ll have a comfortable and practical set of clothes for baby. Keep a kit in your van or at grandma’s house. It’s like earthquake preparedness - you never know when you’ll need those extra essential items.
Each kit comes with two tees and a pair of pants and are prepacked in a chic travel case. The kit is available in sizes: 0-6mos, 6-12mos, 12-18mos, and comes in Fuchsia/Gray and Navy/Gray. It costs $28.99 at BabyAnt.com

I’ve seen similar baby bath wraps online but these Nursery Critter Bath Wraps made me chuckle. Your baby is not going to notice that the hood is decorated with an animal theme, but it might just make you smile.
Imagine that it’s been a long day and you’ve been at home all day with baby OR you’ve been at work at the office all day and this is the only one-on-one time all evening that you have with your child? It’s very easy to get caught up in “getting things done” and we can miss important moments that also need to happen. So you put on one of these silly bath wraps on your baby and it just makes you smile and stop for a moment to enjoy what all your hard work makes possible - a loving and caring environment for your little ones.
Each wrap is woven of thick cotton terry and measure 31″x23″. Imported, personalization is available (add $6.50).
Price: $24.00 at potterybarnkids.com.

My girls always like to feel like they’re involved in my daily activities whether it’s cooking dinner, cleaning the house or working outside. My oldest, Zoe, has her own little stool to stand on to get up to the counter, but I’m always nervous that she may lose her balance. That’s why this Learning Tower caught my eye.
This stool has 4-sides and a roomy platform that makes me feel much more relaxed when Zoe is up on it. The best part is that this tower adjusts as your child grows! You can move the platform to accommodate your growing child so you’ll be sure to get years of use out of it.
Babyscholars.com sells this tower for $179.95.

Style and elegance in a diaper bag is certainly a plus, but we moms know that practicality, usability, and easy maintenance are features that have to be manufactured into any baby product! The stylish look of the Grommet diaper bag caught my eye, but it was reading about the tabbed magnetic closure (no fumbling with clasps or hooks), easy-to-clean interior lining and plenty of separate storage pockets that captured my interest.
The Grommet Diaper Bag also comes with shoulder straps that can be switched to stroller mode in seconds. This designer bag by Nest (San Fransisco, CA) is 15″ length by 7″ width by 12″ height and is priced at $285. Order your bag at artebebe.com.

I love the idea of having a diaper stacker equipped with compartments for various items, including a large sized spot for wipes containers. There’s even a handy swivelling handle for convenience with a padded hand grip for comfort. There are even inner pockets for small items, such as nail clippers. Keeping diapers, powders, change pads, and other diaper changing necessities organized in a caddy with cheerfully patterned or textured lining is especially useful for parents who travel about the house, perhaps between separate floors. Later on, once baby is out of diapers, the caddy can be used for a number of things—toys, crayons, books, DVDs, bath items, or anything you can imagine. Though I am sceptical that I could fit very many of my cloth diapers in the caddy, I’m sure I could fit at least a few along with many other things. 16.5 inches long, 12 inches wide, and 6 inches deep, regularly priced at $40.00 but with a sale price of $31.99, the Deluxe Diaper Caddy by sarabear co can be found at www.babystyle.com.

Ok, so when I first saw this, I thought to myself “why is this kid sitting in a bowl?” I was intrigued enough to read on and saw that this was no bowl, it’ was a Bilibo. What is a Bilibo you ask? Well, let me tell you! It’s actually a pretty good toy that teaches kids to expand their imagination, something that the computer generation of children seem to be lacking. There are so many things that your kids can do with this shell (that’s how the manufacturer refers to it). They can just roll around, put it in the pool, wear it like a hat, play with it in the sand…the possibilities are endless and that’s the whole point. The makers of Bilibo wanted to make a product that had no predetermined way to play with it; they wanted to leave it up to the kids, which I think is fantastic. It’s even been showcased on Nick Jr.’s Special Issue Food! Fun! Fitness! You can get one at modernseed.com for $29.00 in a variety of bright colors.
