Here is a great BPA-free bottle for kids on the go. We bought a few of these for our kids to take to day camp last year and they have survived quite well. They have a very sleek look and are easy to clean. The bite valve may be a little tricky for the youngest users, but it really does help stop leaks. You can purchase this child-friendly .5 liter size for $11 at evergreencanteen.com. Larger sizes are also available.

Like many children, my son has sensitive skin. I’ve learned to buy laundry detergents free of chemicals and dyes, but sometimes, his clothes still bother his skin. That’s why I was anxious to try Cottonique’s line of allergy-free clothing for babies, toddlers and children. I decided to sample their boys’ underwear, as they lie right next to a child’s skin. The first thing I noticed about the boys’ briefs was that they were just that - brief. They were styled more like a bikini than the traditional briefs that I’m used to seeing. But once I touched them, they were the softest underwear I’d ever felt. The rough edges are sewn on the outside, not the inside, so as to avoid irritating the skin. The reason the underwear is so soft, according to the company, is that it’s made from 100% natural cotton, dye and chemical free, and pH balanced. This accounts for its off-white color. The clothing is also latex-free and spandex-free.
The only thing I didn’t like about the underwear was that they fit rather snugly - a notice that accompanied them in the box said that this was because they are not treated with flame-retardant chemicals, so they must fit snugly. My son said they were so comfortable he didn’t even remember he was wearing them. Time will tell if they hold up in the washer and dryer, or if they shrink too much to fit him. All in all, I’m very pleased with this Cottonique product. You can view all of their apparel at Cottonique.com, where the boys’ underwear I tried sells for $17.75 for a pack of three.

Got a bit of a punk side? No problem with PunkBabyClothes.net; they’ve got onesies, dresses, one piece sleepers, pants, hats, and it’s all got punk logos, skulls, fun sayings—you name it, you’ll find it. The coolest piece? The Pink and White Skull Infant Pom Pom Hat. By far, something I’d love to put on any little girl baby. How could she not get attention wearing this? It’s yours for $17 but just try to resist all the other fantastic gear on this site. It’s like that chip commercial–you can’t have just one! …And you surely can’t pick just one thing.

I had some fun magnetic toys as a kid–of the draw a mustache or find your way out of a maze variety, but none of them could compare with this great Sea Life Magnetic Toy from Anatex. It looks fantastic, so I have no doubt that children will be drawn to it. Its take along design makes it perfect for keeping kids busy in the car or on the go. Two wands allow for two children to play–or for one child to cultivate his or her skills with two hands. You can purchase one of these for $59.87 at 1888toys.com.

Fawn and Finch makes handmade pacifier holders designed to make life easier for both mom and baby. I wish pacifier clips had been popular when my son was little - would have saved a lot of crying and shrieking for the pacifier by baby and frantically running to wash off the dirty, dropped pacifier by mom or dad! These handcrafted pacifier holders are really cute, and come in a variety of styles. I particularly like this one - Monster Mania. With its teal blue and chartreuse green colors, it works for a boy or a girl. Measuring 6.75″ x 3/4″, you can purchase this pacifier holder for $9.00 and view the entire line at FawnandFinch.com.

Recently, I was directed to the site Toogaloo.com by an Upscale Baby reader, as they sell Heimess Dummy Chains. I had a look at the site and my eye landed on the Elastic Elephants toy ring. The ring is pretty, bright, and it’ll keep baby entertained on outings because it’s easy to clip to the buggy with the millions of colorful links toys most parents have around the house. Best of all, it’s 100% natural, $13.99, and there’s a matching dummy chain available (get a cute blanket with coordinating circles or elephants on it and you’ve got a great gift.)

Designed especially for a baby boy, this Minky Baby Blanket in the Little Dablings Couture line really catches my eye. This luxury baby blanket is stroller/travel size (30″ x 30″). It’s handcrafted from a tanner embossed pre-washed cotton-poly blend fabric, and bordered by 2″ of black satin binding. The fabric is washed after creating the blanket also, to ensure that it won’t shrink. Machine washable and made in the USA, you can buy this beautiful baby blanket for $55 at Dablings.com.

Sleep bags and sacks are one of the safest ways to put baby down for a nap or at bedtime. When my son was a baby, I always used sleep sacks, with various weight fabrics for the different seasons. I like the looks of this Ergopouch Sleepbag.Made in Australia of quilted organic cotton with no pesticides or chemicals, the Ergopouch is hypoallergenic, perfect for baby’s sensitive skin. It adheres to all safety regulations. The seamless design of the Ergopouch moves with baby, as it fits snugly yet doesn’t allow baby to get tangled in the sack during sleep. Its double-ended zipper provides easy diaper changing access. It’s a bit steep at the price of $99.95 AUD (about $78 USD), but the manufacturer notes that, as babies spend most of their time in bed, they should do so in comfort, luxury, and safety. You can view the Ergopouch at StyledBaby.com.au, where if you purchase an Ergopouch right now, you can get a pair of Ergopyjamas at half price (use code “ergo” at checkout). They ship worldwide.

Personally, I’m a huge fan of Phil & Ted’s. They come up with the most ingenious gear– obviously they have some seriously creative parents designing products that are not only practical but also stylish. I’ve been waiting for their Wriggle Wrapper to officially come out in stores so that I could do a review of it. This three-in-one contraption is basically a high chair, secure sit-and-play spot, and crib away from home. No need for portable high chairs or even travel cribs (though I highly recommend their travel crib, which we have used on countless occasions with our twins). You basically wrap this around your child, much like you would a diaper, and you can secure him/her either to your own lap or even chair. And what’s amazing is that the straps fit around most twin beds, creating a safe and convenient place for your child to sleep while traveling away from home.
It is machine washable and folds into its own storage bag, making it even more convenient for travel. The manufacturer says that you can use this product until your baby is 24 months old, though I don’t know if I would use the sleep feature with kids that old since they would probably prefer some wiggle room at that point. Available in both charcoal and red, you can buy this brand new product on shopphilandteds.com for just $49.99–not a bad deal for all the ways you can use it.

I’m not usually one to gush about diaper bags, but I’m going to make an exception in this case. I just saw the Eglan Brown Circle Diaper Bag in person, and all I can say is, wow, what a bag! If you think all diaper bags are essentially the same, you haven’t seen the Eglan Line of Baby Bee Bags. This bag is so organized, with a place for everything for the busy mom or dad. A large main zippered compartment with a changing pad provides plenty of room for changes of clothing. Another large zippered compartment is a bit narrower and perfect for diapers, wipes, or cloths. There are two external bottle pockets, a front cell phone pocket, a back pocket, and a front detachable pocket that can be worn as a fanny pack. There are straps galore, with two adjustable straps on the back to act as a backpack or stroller ties, and a wide, adjustable shoulder strap.
What’s so remarkable about this bag is that it’s stylish to boot. Usually a nicely organized diaper bag like this comes in a hideous color or style that isn’t appealing — not the Eglan Line. All of their designs are fashionable. This micro fiber bag is a bag you’ll want to use even after the kids are out of diapers. Measuring 13″ x 15″ x 6″, it would make a perfect laptop case, briefcase, or travel case. You can view the entire line of Eglan diaper bags and brick and mortar stores where they’re sold at BabyBeeBags.com. You’ll have to pay for this much organization and stylishness combined, however: the Brown Circle bag sells in stores for $139.00. You can purchase it online for a bit less — $129.95 — at ShowerYourBaby.com.

While I have to class this among “dream” items based on its $334 price tag, this gift set from Green Little Beans is truly something special. Handcrafted in Brazil, this suitcase is full of everything you need to pamper your own princess. The set includes a hand knit jumper and sweater, a hand embroidered baby pillow, a handmade princess doll, Green Little Beans organic logo soap, and a pair of crochet booties (larger sizes receive a headband instead).
This is truly a one of a kind heirloom gift. You can treasure the baby clothes, and your little girl can continue to use the suitcase as she grows. You can order the set with clothing in sizes from 3-6 months up to 2 years at greenlittlebeans.com.

The Stokke Xplory stroller is unique in that it brings your child up to parental eye-level, and away from dirty streets. Some say that the added eye contact between baby and parent increases bonding. It must provide a much better view for baby, to say the least. The Stokke Xplory also makes it easier for parents to tend to baby while in the stroller, without bending over. With an adjustable footrest and two-way seating, the Stokke Xplory is designed to be used from birth to 40 lbs/4 years old. It can also be used with certain car seats, including the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio or the Graco Snugride, with adapters (sold separately). It does carry a hefty price tag, however: for the Stokke Xplory Complete, which includes bassinet, seat, sun canopy, mosquito net, rain cover, under seat basket, and bassinet liners, costs a whopping $1399.99 CAD (about $1236.68 USD). Without the bassinet, it’s a bit less, at $1199.00 CAD ($1059.18 USD). However, if you purchase before July 15 and register the warranty online, Stokke will give you a free diaper bag, worth $120 ($106 USD). Visit CrocodileBaby.com for details.

This Zigo Leader Carrier Bicycle may be one of the most innovative products I’ve seen in quite some time. When my three year old was a young toddler, I wanted to ride my bike with her, but I don’t like the idea of her trailing behind me where I can’t see her. I bought a front mounting seat, which seemed like a good solution, but it just seemed so complicated to deal with that it is still in the package in my basement 3 years later.
This system seems like a perfect solution. The child pod can be detached from the bike in thirty seconds. You can ride the bike without the pod, or use the pod as a stroller. While the $1349 price is a bit hard to swallow, this looks like a great investment in your family’s health and entertainment. You can check this product out and purchase one at sparkability.net.
