We had the grand plan of using our beautiful Swedish bouncer in our office so we could work with our little one beside us. Unfortunately, while the wood bouncer looks great in our office, our little one wants nothing to do with it. I’m working quite a bit from home while on maternity leave, so a portable “nest” for the baby is a must. Since she likes our larger swing, I decided to give this portable swing from Boppy a try. I am so glad that I did. It was easy to assemble, it looks great, and our baby is quite happy in it.
This is one product that actually looks much better in person than in pictures. It has a very understated floral print that I find quite attractive. The soft sides and headrest look extremely cozy. It also has useful features such as a timer with several different settings (good since “someone” always forgets to turn off out other swing, draining its batteries). The swing detects the baby’s weight and adjusts accordingly. I would definitely recommend this product to other new parents. You can purchase one for $69.99 at Target.com. Target’s Web site says they are only available online, but I was able to purchase ours in the store.

We have a Fisher-Price Papsan Cradle Swing and I like it a lot. It is comfortable and our little one seems to enjoy it. The only thing I’m not crazy about is its appearance. When I saw this collaboration between Fisher-Price and the hip designers at DwellStudio, I was instantly jealous. This swing combines the features of other Fisher-Price cradle swings–side to side motion, a papasan-style seat, a plush head cushion, a three point harness, etc. with the hip modern look you would expect from DwellStudio. I love the blue/brown color combination. The swing also sports an MP3 dock, although I’ve never seen the point of the one we have on one of our bouncers. If they made this in the DwellStudio bird print, I think I’d be tempted to bring home another swing. You can purchase this one for $139.99 at Target.com.
