Prance Tie Dress

Prance Tie Dress

The Prance Tie Dress has an aqua horse appliqué and trim to set off the bright red of the frock. There are even coordinating pants to go with it available on www.littletreehouse.ca, so you can put a long sleeve shirt underneath the dress for use all year round. It only comes in sizes 1 Year and 2T (dresses, especially with ties, do tend to be long-lasting though as both dresses and tops) but it’s on sale for $21.99 ($8 savings), with the bloomers on for the same price. If you’ve got a little boy or twins, there‘s a jumper in the same pattern; they’d make quite a pair of outfits.

Propoline Multi Mam Massage Cream for Pregnancy

Propoline Multi Mam Massage Cream for Pregnancy

I love Propoline’s nipple balm for the early (sore) days of nursing a new baby. I recently noticed that the company also makes this massage cream for  use during pregnancy. Intended to keep skin smooth and to prevent stretch marks, it is made from natural ingredients. I had trouble finding this company’s products for a while, but I have recently found them online at babygeared. You can purchase this massage cream for $18 at babygeared.com. Now if I could only find a reliable source for the company’s rose lip balm…

Old Navy Jersey Pant 2-Packs

Old Navy Jersey Pant 2-Packs

I always like to see something a bit different for babies, especially boys, since it can be tough to find things I love for my little men. I like the Old Navy Jersey Pant 2-Packs for Baby because of the fun patterned (“I love Daddy I love Mommy Everybody Loves Me”) pair.  I’d buy the coordinating onesies to mix and match. In sizes right up to 18 months at oldnavy.com, they’re $10.50 and come in Pink, Gray, or Blue Combo. Pant sets are nice options for parents of multiples as well; you can coordinate your children’s outfits but not have them exactly alike.

Aunt LaLa’s Log by RosieBear

aunt-lalas-log

New parents are usually interested in keeping track of everything their newborn does - from how much and when she eats, to how many times a day she soils her diaper and what color it is, to nap and sleep times. It’s very important to note these behaviors, especially if you’re breastfeeding. That’s why I like Aunt LaLa’s Log by RosieBear, a company made up of two sisters who create must-haves for new moms. It’s a stylish way to record your baby’s behaviors and patterns during her first three months of life. Aunt LaLa’s Log is available in girl, boy, and generic design, in Standard format. Normally sellling for $29.95 for Standard format or $49.95 for Twins format, UpscaleBaby.com readers can purchase this innovative product at a 10% discount for a limited time only, by accessing http://www.rosiebear.com/index_files/FabulousFriends.htm and entering the code UPSCALE. (You can only receive the discount by accessing this specific page, not by going to the website and ordering through the normal process).

BOB Revolution Duallie Stroller

BOB Revolution Duallie Stroller

I really like my Maclaren double stroller, but after pushing around my friend’s new BOB Duallie stroller, I began to realize the benefits of having a jogging stroller. Although her stroller is heavier than mine, weighing in at about 33 pounds, it was a breeze pushing her twins around. The stroller basically pushes itself, making it that much easier to walk or jog with your duo and start working off some of that leftover baby fat. The stroller boasts many of the same features of other double strollers–seats that recline independently, five-point seat harnesses that keep your kids secure, a multi-position sunshade, and pockets for various baby items you may need on your excursion. It also features a rotating front wheel that that not only gives you more control but also makes turning around much easier. The tires are extra-wide and ready for any kind of road be it smooth and paved or bumpy and rugged. In addition to a safety strap that you can loop onto your wrist, there’s even a rear wheel braking system you can activate with your foot to ensure your stroller doesn’t go anymore that you’re not.

But I have to say my favorite part of all is the fact that the stroller is engineered in a way to really make two babies feel lighter than they should be. While I can’t rationalize spending money on another pricey stroller right now, I am definitely thinking about trading in my beloved Maclaren at some point when my twins just feel too heavy to push around and upgrading to one of these bad boys. You don’t have to be a jogger to take advantage of this one in my opinion. This particular BOB stroller, available in either Navy or Orange, can be found at REI.com for $569. Have it sent to an REI store for pickup, and avoid paying extra for shipping.

Ready, Set, Go Organic Set for Triplets

Made by Baby’s Language from 100% organic cotton, they are super soft and comfortable. They feature lap shoulders for easy changes. These would look great on both boys and girls. Twin Froggies Sock Bouquet

Twin Froggies Sock Bouquet

Here’s a cute gift for the expectant mother of twins. This set of hugging frogs comes with a bouquet of four pairs of socks. The frogs make a sound when their backs are pressed and they can even be separated, making them good candidates for future play—this way each twin can get one. This gift is currently on sale for $39.95 on swankyblooms.com. However, if you’re the creative type, there is no reason why you can’t use this as a guide and make your own creation for your pregnant friend. My tip would be to buy a hugging pair of stuffed animals (which you could probably even find discounted after Valentine’s Day) and a few pairs of baby socks (you could even buy ones with funky patterns) and then get behind your computer.

There are many different websites that will show you step-by-step how to create your own sock bouquet. PlanThePerfectBabyShower.com even has pictures for each step. Now, it’s definitely easier to just buy the set, but if you have a little time on your hands, I’m sure your personal touch would be greatly appreciated. For our baby shower, one of our friends made us a diaper cake and while it wasn’t as fancy as some of the ones out there right now, we were so impressed that she had put it together herself. The added benefit of doing it yourself is that you can also customize it for your friend. And who knows, maybe you’ll find yourself so successful at making these kinds of gifts that you’ll end up creating a business opportunity for yourself later on…you never know.

Double the Occupancy Maternity Tee by MommyLoves.com

“Double The Occupancy” Maternity Tee

I got so big when I was pregnant with my twins, that I got tired of people acting surprised when I told them how far along I was. In fact, one time when I was leaving the hospital after an ultrasound appointment, the guy at the door told me I was going the wrong way. The reality is that you get bigger a lot faster when you’re pregnant with two. Perhaps if I had a shirt like this, I would have avoided some of the annoying commentary.

This fun “Double the Occupancy” maternity top is available in both short and long sleeves, making it ideal for any season. It is available in a variety of colors and sizes—there’s even a sizing chart to help you pick the perfect fitting shirt for you, though I would agree with the manufacturer to go one size higher than you usually are as you will find yourself growing out of even maternity tops by your third trimester. Selling for $29.99 on mommyloves.com, this shirt would be a perfect gift for yourself or for an expectant mother of twins that you know.

EZ-2 Nurse Twins Pillow

There is no reason why you can’t breastfeed when you have twins. While it is slightly more complicated and intense, it can definitely be done. Because traditional nursing pillows are just not big enough for two babies, you need something specifically made for multiples if you want to tandem nurse.

This pillow featured on the site  doubleblessings.com is fabulous for the mother who wants to nurse both babies at once and save herself time. I personally needed someone to help me set up the babies the times I wanted to tandem nurse, though there are testimonials from women on the site who were able to tandem nurse all by themselves. Even if you decide to tandem nurse only once in a while, this pillow is still helpful to have. Especially if you had a c-section like I did, you will find it much easier and less painful at first to use a pillow even when nursing just one baby at a time.

It has a washable cover and includes a small pillow to put behind your back for added comfort. There are various prints to choose from, though I think the “twins print” is the most interesting as it offers you some reading material. It sells for $50 on doubleblessings.com, though you can sometimes find one on craigslist for about half price.

Dr. Seuss Thing One and Two Twosie Gift Bag

Dr. Seuss Thing One and Thing Two Twosie Gift Bag

I’m not one of those twin parents who dresses her babies alike, but we couldn’t resist putting ours in these Dr. Seuss Thing One and Thing Two outfits when they were younger. Who doesn’t appreciate a little Dr. Seuss after all? The onesies are 100% cotton and have snaps at the bottom for easy changing. The best part is that the red looks great on both boys and girls, so you can even get this as a gift for the expectant twin mama who doesn’t know what she’s having.

Whenever our twins wore these onesies, we got compliments and even more attention than they normally get walking around in the double stroller. This is a great one to put your twins in for example when you’re getting on a plane and hoping to score a free seat so you don’t end up both holding an infant on lap for the entire flight—which actually did happen to us once.

This gift bag is a great purchase for yourself or a friend. You can buy it in sizes 3, 6, or 9 months on Seussland.com for $30.99.

Maclaren Twin Techno Double Stroller

Maclaren Twin Techno Double Stroller

It isn’t easy getting out of the house with twins, but having the right equipment helps. There are two basic choices for double strollers: side-by-side or front-back. After hearing stories from friends about what the twin sitting in the back does to the one in front, like pulling hair, for example, we decided we definitely wanted a side-by-side. And the reality is that the Maclaren is the best one out there.

While there are lighter twin strollers on the market, the Twin Techno is still relatively lightweight for all its features. For just under 26 pounds, you get a sturdy stroller that offers things like individual head rests and seats that independently recline, extendable leg rests, and storage both below and behind the seats.

The stroller even comes with its own rain/wind cover, which has become a life-saver because it allows me to take my twins outside even when the weather is not ideal. The only downside to the stroller in my opinion is that the canopy of the stroller doesn’t completely block the sun.

The viewing window at the top makes it easy to see your twins below, but it also makes it easy for the sun to get into their little eyes. My solution: either put some hats on those babies or throw a small blanket on top of the stroller to block out those rays. Regardless of this small flaw, this stroller is still a must buy for parents of twins.

Listed at $379.99 at buybuybaby.com, it is a worthwhile investment and a great item to put on your registry to have a group of friends or relatives get together and buy.
