Mod Pod Pop Monkey Fitted Crib Sheet

Mod Pod Pop Monkey Fitted Crib Sheet

I was recently browsing the Babies R Us Web site when I came across this cute little crib sheet. Although I find the rest of the coordinating crib set to be a bit over the top, this sheet is fresh and fun. I think it would look great with simple brown furnishings. It would be cute for either a boy or a girl. It is also affordable at $15.99. You can purchase one (and check out the rest of the Mod Pod Pop Monkey line) at ToysRUs.com.

Lala’s Pequenos Newborn Noonie - Bubble Gum

newborn-noonie

This is one of the cutest, most practical items I’ve seen in a while. The Newborn Noonie, designed by Lala’s Pequenos, is a swaddler that makes your newborn more comfy and cozy. Handmade of 100% cotton and lined with soft minky, the Newborn Noonie measures 30″ long x 15″ wide. It has two coordinating fabric buttons to make swaddling easier. Lala’s Pequenos also sells a line of organic Noonies. To view the entire collection, go to the etsy site at etsy.com: seller: lalaspequenos, where this Bubble Gum Newborn Noonie sells for $45.

Lizzie Crib Linens by Little Bunny Blue

lizzie-crib-linens

This crib linens bedding set called “Lizzie,” by Little Bunny Blue, is striking and very upscale. Made of 100% cotton, the black and white accents really catch one’s eye and would be quite visually stimulating for an infant. The set includes bumper, sheet, coverlet, and dust ruffle. The fact that this set is custom made upon order justifies its price, $850, at RosenberryRooms.com.

Little Dablings Couture Minky Baby Blanket

minky-baby-blanket

Designed especially for a baby boy, this Minky Baby Blanket in the Little Dablings Couture line really catches my eye. This luxury baby blanket is stroller/travel size (30″ x 30″). It’s handcrafted from a tanner embossed pre-washed cotton-poly blend fabric, and bordered by 2″ of black satin binding. The fabric is washed after creating the blanket also, to ensure that it won’t shrink. Machine washable and made in the USA, you can buy this beautiful baby blanket for $55 at Dablings.com.

Ergopouch Sleep Bag

ergopouch-sleep-bag

Sleep bags and sacks are one of the safest ways to put baby down for a nap or at bedtime. When my son was a baby, I always used sleep sacks, with various weight fabrics for the different seasons. I like the looks of this Ergopouch Sleepbag.Made in Australia of quilted organic cotton with no pesticides or chemicals, the Ergopouch is hypoallergenic, perfect for baby’s sensitive skin. It adheres to all safety regulations. The seamless design of the Ergopouch moves with baby, as it fits snugly yet doesn’t allow baby to get tangled in the sack during sleep. Its double-ended zipper provides easy diaper changing access. It’s a bit steep at the price of $99.95 AUD (about $78 USD), but the manufacturer notes that, as babies spend most of their time in bed, they should do so in comfort, luxury, and safety. You can view the Ergopouch at StyledBaby.com.au, where if you purchase an Ergopouch right now, you can get a pair of Ergopyjamas at half price (use code “ergo” at checkout). They ship worldwide.

Aden and Anais Muslin Sleep Bag

Aden and Anais Muslin Sleep Bag

We are hooked on sleep bags at our house. I don’t feel like my baby is properly dressed at night without one. As the weather gets warmer, out trusty dusty Carter’s and Passport bags are getting too warm. Aden and Anais has a great reputation for its blankets and swaddlers, so when I saw that they make a lightweight muslin sleep bag, I had to know more. I discovered they make all kinds of fun prints (not surprising I guess, given their reputation and popularity with celebrity families). There are some great feminine prints, but my favorite is this gold fish print which is perfect for either a boy or girl. You can purchase one from the company’s Web site (adenandanais.com) for $29.95. I saw some cheaper prices online, but those stories had a more limited selection of prints. I know this is on our short list of things to buy this summer.

Phil & Ted’s “Wriggle Wrapper”

Phil & Ted’s “Wriggle Wrapper”

Personally, I’m a huge fan of Phil & Ted’s. They come up with the most ingenious gear– obviously they have some seriously creative parents designing products that are not only practical but also stylish. I’ve been waiting for their Wriggle Wrapper to officially come out in stores so that I could do a review of it. This three-in-one contraption is basically a high chair, secure sit-and-play spot, and crib away from home. No need for portable high chairs or even travel cribs (though I highly recommend their travel crib, which we have used on countless occasions with our twins). You basically wrap this around your child, much like you would a diaper, and you can secure him/her either to your own lap or even chair. And what’s amazing is that the straps fit around most twin beds, creating a safe and convenient place for your child to sleep while traveling away from home.

It is machine washable and folds into its own storage bag, making it even more convenient for travel. The manufacturer says that you can use this product until your baby is 24 months old, though I don’t know if I would use the sleep feature with kids that old since they would probably prefer some wiggle room at that point. Available in both charcoal and red, you can buy this brand new product on shopphilandteds.com for just $49.99–not a bad deal for all the ways you can use it.

Appliqued Bird Bodysuit & Blanket Gift Set

Appliqued Bird Bodysuit & Blanket Gift Set

I always love bird-themed items, and this great gift set from artist Amy Knight is really at the top of the heap. Great for either a boy or a girl, this set includes a gorgeous blanket and coordinating onesie. Both are made in the USA from 100% cotton. You choose the size of the onesie, from 0-3 months up to 18 months. This would make a stunning gift. At $30 it is very reasonably-priced compared to other similar sets I have seen. You can order one at CraftsburyKids.com.

George Collection Organic Crib Bedding by Coyuchi

george-collection

Curious George is a favorite character of many children. The George Collection Organic Crib Bedding by Coyuchi caught my eye as many members of our family are loyal Curious George fans. I especially like this George Crib Blanket. It is made of a white percale front, an ivory flannel back, but what makes this most appealing to me is the hand embroidery. It makes this blanket feel more like a family heirloom. However, it’s even better than a family heirloom, as it’s made of 100% organic cotton. At $96, it’s not an everyday purchase, but worth it to save as a hand-me-down to your grandchildren someday. You can view this and the rest of the George Collection at TheNaturalBabyRegistry.com.

Incog-Neato Bed Protectors

pad

My son is at the stage where he’s fully potty-trained during the day (he’s 5), but at night, he still needs some help. I’ve been putting him to bed wearing a GoodNite each night, and he also has one of those crinkly protectors that covers his mattress. I really like the idea of the Incog-Neato Bed Protector Pad, however. They are pads designed to fit over a fitted sheet, in a chair, and even can be used as a pet protector pad. Less cumbersome and easier to launder than mattress covers, Incog-Neato pads are available in a variety of different designs including prints and solids, and in the following sizes: Chair size (15″ x 19″) for $19.99, Toddler/single bed size (32″ x 34″) for $49.99, and Queen bed size (34″ x 42″) for $59.99 at Target stores. You can view them online at Incog-Neato.com.

CoZi SAC by CoZibug

sackslg

CoZibug is a new line of eco-friendly hooded towels, sleep sacks, velcro swaddles, bib/burp cloths and stroller blankets that match some of the top selling strollers on the market. I couldn’t help but smile at these photos of the CoZi SAC stylish sleep sack. Featuring a two-way zipper for easy changes, the CoZi SAC is made of a 100% cotton front and super plush back and is machine washable and dryable. Designed to slip over pajamas, it’s all your baby will need to sleep in at night.

When my son was an infant, I never used sheets or blankets in his crib, for safety’s sake. If I used any sort of covering for him, it was a sleep sack.  These CoZi SACs are so stylish, they’re hard to resist (even though my son is 5 now and too big for a CoZi SAC, unfortunately!)  The CoZi SAC is warm in the winter and cool in the summer, and made using non-toxic dyes. All tags are made using recycled paper, and the SAC comes in a reusable CoZi Bag. Available in a variety of colors, you can purchase the CoZi SAC for $54 and see the rest of the CoZibug line at CoZibug.com.
