Something about the simple styling of this beanie by Child’s Play really caught my eye. The brimmed Buckle Beanie is crocheted in charcoal colored 80% acrylic/20% wool yarn, making a warm, comfortable hat for your little one. The silver buckle just sets the entire hat off. Jessi, the designer, is willing to custom-crochet this hat to your specifications, including custom sizes and colors. Sizes/prices range from 9-12 months for $27 to adult for $35 at 1000markets.com. Two weeks production time is necessary for these custom made hats.

After spotting Matilda Ledger in a pink tiered Lucy Sykes dress recently, I thought I’d have a gander at the site. There are so many things to choose from, all in pretty, feminine patterns and cuts. Some of the dresses look like they’d only be appropriate with bloomers, but in all, it’s swanky gear. Harmonize your daughters’ outfits, should you have two or more girls, easily with coordinating collections of dresses, tops, and pants. You can even get a thing or two for yourself or your sons while shopping at LucySykes.com.
Since the Lucy Sykes site seems to be malfunctioning, I found the sweet-as-can-be candy-striped cotton seersucker dress at the famous Saks Fifth Avenue online store for $72.

Bibs and Match is a unique, fashionable, safe, and practical idea for baby clothing. They make drool bib and onesie sets that are safer for baby than traditional bibs. The bibs snap directly onto the onesie, preventing strangulation and making changes easy. The bibs won’t rotate to the back and also have side snaps to prevent suffocation. The winner of 2008 iParenting Media Awards, Bibs and Match are also CPSIA compliant. They are made of 100% soft spun cotton using 100% non toxic water based ink. I particularly like this 3 piece boxed set, which features two bibs and one onesie. This would make a great gift for new parents. You can view all of the company’s offerings at BibsandMatch.com, where this set is available in sizes from 3-6 months to 9-12 months and sells for $30.

Stock up for fall and save with this Baby Nay Frida Scoop Neck Layered Tee. We have some clothes from this Baby Nay line, and I quite like it. The blue is just a very unusual and striking shade that works very well with the foliage print. It looks great on my blue-eyed baby. This layered look continues to be popular, whether you pair it with jeans, leggings, or even a skirt. You can purchase this top on sale for $18 (half price) at shopbabytrends.com. It is available in toddler sizes.

This Organic Grey Bamboo Branch Onesie from Small Plum recently caught my eye with its simple, yet very aesthetically-pleasing style. Grey is an unexpected choice for baby gear, but it looks great. Plus it’s made from bamboo, so it is ultra soft and eco-friendly. You’ll be doing your part to support the use of sustainable resources while no doubt enjoying many compliments. This little onesie is available in sizes from 0-3 months up to 6-12 months. It retails for $29.95. You can purchase one at sandboxcouture.com.

I love the comfort of yoga pants, so I’m glad to see that they are moving into infant and toddler sizes. My three year old has a pair that are quickly becoming a favorite because they are comfy, easy to put on, and go with just about anything. This cute little set from Quite Contrary pairs yoga pants with a cute little “Teeny Yogini” onesie. You’ll keep your wee one cozy and share your sense of humor with the world. The 100% cotton set would also make a great gift, especially for yoga enthusiasts. It is available in sizes from 3-6 months up to 18-24 months and retials for $37.99. You can buy one at urbanbabyrunway.com.

One of the best things about having a daughter (I’m guessing) is being able to buy her all sorts of cute hair accessories. I love this Crocheted Hat with Flower Clip by Woobie Wear. Babies, toddlers, and young children can get away with wearing beautiful hats like this one. It’s handmade, just like all of Woobie Wear’s hair accessories, and the flower clip is interchangeable, allowing for several different looks. Another great thing about these hats - they’re one size fits all, from newborn to age 12, as they come with an adjustable ribbon. So even though you might spend $20 for a hat, you know your child will be getting years of wear from it. You can view this gorgeous hat and all of Woobie Wear’s products at HeyBabyDesigns.com, and you can purchase this hat for $19.59 at Image-DesignInc.com.

Like many children, my son has sensitive skin. I’ve learned to buy laundry detergents free of chemicals and dyes, but sometimes, his clothes still bother his skin. That’s why I was anxious to try Cottonique’s line of allergy-free clothing for babies, toddlers and children. I decided to sample their boys’ underwear, as they lie right next to a child’s skin. The first thing I noticed about the boys’ briefs was that they were just that - brief. They were styled more like a bikini than the traditional briefs that I’m used to seeing. But once I touched them, they were the softest underwear I’d ever felt. The rough edges are sewn on the outside, not the inside, so as to avoid irritating the skin. The reason the underwear is so soft, according to the company, is that it’s made from 100% natural cotton, dye and chemical free, and pH balanced. This accounts for its off-white color. The clothing is also latex-free and spandex-free.
The only thing I didn’t like about the underwear was that they fit rather snugly - a notice that accompanied them in the box said that this was because they are not treated with flame-retardant chemicals, so they must fit snugly. My son said they were so comfortable he didn’t even remember he was wearing them. Time will tell if they hold up in the washer and dryer, or if they shrink too much to fit him. All in all, I’m very pleased with this Cottonique product. You can view all of their apparel at Cottonique.com, where the boys’ underwear I tried sells for $17.75 for a pack of three.

Got a bit of a punk side? No problem with PunkBabyClothes.net; they’ve got onesies, dresses, one piece sleepers, pants, hats, and it’s all got punk logos, skulls, fun sayings—you name it, you’ll find it. The coolest piece? The Pink and White Skull Infant Pom Pom Hat. By far, something I’d love to put on any little girl baby. How could she not get attention wearing this? It’s yours for $17 but just try to resist all the other fantastic gear on this site. It’s like that chip commercial–you can’t have just one! …And you surely can’t pick just one thing.

Pure & Honest Kids is an attractive site with many great home page options, including “Gifts Under $50”, “Travel Must Haves”, and several other links to make shopping that much simpler. There’s a lot of stuff to get through on PureAndHonestKids.com so it’s a good thing they divide the site into categories. All the patterns and prints are a little confusing to the eye and it would be nice if they sectioned clothing into pants/shirts/etc. instead of lumping it all under designer names instead. It is a little easier to navigate the site by categories of boy/girl/infant boy/toddler boy/etc.
Did I find something up my alley at Pure & Honest Kids? I did like the Aqua Cable Hooded Sweater in sizes 12 and 24 months; I think it would go nicely with gray pants and a white tee. Pair it with cute shoes and call it an outfit! $32 and 100% Cotton, it’s a nice alternative to other hoodies.

While I overheat just looking at this snow pants and jacket set from outdoor favorite Columbia, this is an absolutely fantastic deal. The set, which is available in several different colors, includes a pair of snow bibs and a reversible hooded jacket. Both pieces have expandable cuffs to allow you to get several seasons’ wear. The suggested retail for this set is $125, but you can get it in this off-season sale for $42.48 at backcountry.com.

If you are looking for a unique baby gift or for that special outfit that will really make your newborn stand out in a crowd, you will want to check out this great set from Nissalissa. Available exclusively at The Silly Wagon, this set features an adorable monster applique on a 100% cotton gown and a coordinating cap. Gowns make early diaper changes a breeze (especially during the night), and they fit longer than newborn outfits. That’s a good thing, since this set is a bit of a splurge at $53.95. You can buy one at thesillywagon.com.

This is one of the cutest, most practical items I’ve seen in a while. The Newborn Noonie, designed by Lala’s Pequenos, is a swaddler that makes your newborn more comfy and cozy. Handmade of 100% cotton and lined with soft minky, the Newborn Noonie measures 30″ long x 15″ wide. It has two coordinating fabric buttons to make swaddling easier. Lala’s Pequenos also sells a line of organic Noonies. To view the entire collection, go to the etsy site at etsy.com: seller: lalaspequenos, where this Bubble Gum Newborn Noonie sells for $45.
