Adiri Nursers Now in Target Stores

Adiri Nursers Now in Target Stores

I had picked these breast-like Adiri bottles out as my first choice when pregnant with my youngest daughter, but no stores near me carried them. I wanted to see them in person before buying them and paying a shipping fee that would nearly double their price. I ended up using the glass Born Free bottles instead because my local Target carries them. I was recently in the breastfeeding aisle at Target and was surprised to see they now carry these Adiri Nursers in-store. We’re well established with the Born Free bottles, but for a moment I secretly wished we weren’t. I’ll never get the chance to try these out, but their wider availability will hopefully be a boon for other nursing moms. You can purchase them in stores for $12.99 for a single bottle or $22.99 for a twin pack, although they were on sale for less when I saw them. You can also check them out online at target.com.

Upscale on a Budget: Paul Frank at Target

Upscale on a Budget: Paul Frank at Target

One of Target’s most recent style coups is a line from Paul Frank. Although these items are not available online at this time, I have seen quite a few of them in our mid-sized Target store. Girls’ t-shirts retail for $8.99, and there are some pretty cute raincoats for $12.99 (and matching umbrellas too). I didn’t think to check out the boys’ department, but I would imagine there are tees there as well. If you are a Paul Frank fan, I would definitely recommend a trip to Target to check it out. I’m thinking one of the tees may end up in my daughter’s back to school wardrobe. In the meantime, you can get your Paul Frank fix at Target online with this 3-pack of socks for $9.99.

Upscale on a Budget: Cherokee Organics

I was walking through Target recently and saw these adorable organic cotton tees and yoga pants from Cherokee. They look great and appear to be as comfy as can be. I snapped them up for my middle daughter (seen here in her not-so-coordinating Crocs). She couldn’t stop talking about the tree on the front of the shirt, so I think she likes it. I can’t find these organic separates for sale on the Target Web site just yet, but you can pick them up in Target stores. I paid less than $14 for the outfit–a great deal for an organic set.

Upscale on a Budget: Be Band Maternity Band at Target

I was in Target recently and discovered that they have started carrying belly bands in the maternity department. Made by Be Band, these are designed to help you transition into maternity wear by concealing unsnapped pants with a smooth stretchy band. They cost roughly half of what you would pay for the name brand (Bella Band) and come in a number of practical colors to blend into your wardrobe. I discovered them too late to put them to the test, but they look like they would work beautifully. You can purchase one for $16.99 in Target stores or at Target.com.

Upscale on a Budget: Leather Crib Shoes from Target

Upscale on a Budget: Leather Crib Shoes from Target

Here is a cute footwear option that won’t break the bank. These crib shoes offer the same features as name brands like Robeez at about half the price. Made from leather with suede soles, these shoes feature an elasticized back to keep them on wiggly feet.

They offer flexibility and breathability so growing feet get off to the right start. We have one pair of these that I bought on clearance at my local Target for less than $4! Although I find then to be slightly less soft than our Robeez, they look great and fit like the more expensive brand.

The normal retail price is $12.99. You can purchase them at Target stores or online at target.com. A number of colors and designs are available.  I thought this giraffe pair was quite cute.

Lion Chair by Scratch, Toy Workshop Lion Chair, or Larry the Lion?

I think the Lion Chair by Scratch (shown above) is beautiful. Crafted from wood and imitation leather, the lion’s head serves as the backrest and the remainder of the chair is much like a footstool. I’d love to see it in a nursery or play room used as a footstool for a rocking chair or as a chair with a coordinating table. The lion’s quirky smile and cross-eyes are enchanting and the colors are bright but not overdone or tacky. There’s just enough plain wood to balance the orange and yellow, a mixture that might inspire some lovely nursery designs. Its size is 30 x 30 cm | approx. 11.8 x 11.8 in., more than enough for little bottoms. The Lion Chair can be found at moolka.com for $112.99, not a price everyone’s budget can accommodate but this piece of furniture is something that will certainly become a family heirloom passed from child to child.

Another popular option is the Toy Workshop Lion Chair for $69.99. Painted in vivid oranges and yellows with a cute smiling lion on its front, it’s not quite as artistically rendered as the Scratch chair is, but it is less expensive and just as nice for a play room or nursery. Charming in its own sunshiney way, the Toy Workshop seat can be found at Target.com.

If your price point is quite a bit less than the above but you would still like to add the king of the jungle to your space, Larry the Lion Chair is an attractive alternative. Though this chair is a simple folding chair, it is still something to consider, with its circular vivid mane and colorful steel legs. Good for a picnic or just for around the house, it’s padded for comfort and comes with a travel bag. Have a gander at Larry at ToysRUs.com; he’s only $16.99.

Dr. Bronner’s Unscented Baby Soap

Dr. Bronner's Unscented Baby Soap

I’ve used Dr. Bronner’s soap for many years and I really like it (although I wouldn’t recommend using it as toothpaste or for some of the other purposes listed on the label).  I was recently excited to discover that mainstream stores such as Target are starting to carry Dr. Bronner’s products, including this Unscented Castile soap for babies.

This extremely mild soap contains olive oil and is made without any fragrances.  It is perfect for a baby’s delicate skin, but it is great for adult skin, too, especially as we move into the dry winter months.  You can buy a large, 32 oz bottle for $13.69 at target.com.

Nick & Nora Owl Pajamas

Nick & Nora Owl Pajamas

I don’t usually buy clothes for my kids at Target, but I was very impressed by these great Nick and Nora pajamas and ended up buying a pair for each of my girls.  What drew me to them is the adorable owl print.  Owls are everywhere in high end baby and child gear this fall, and these look about as nice as anything that I’ve seen.

My older daughter got this silky pair, which she loves, and my two year old got the same print in a cotton knit.  I like them so much that I’m tempted to go have their pictures taken in them.  You can purchase a pair in Target stores or at target.com.  The older girls’ version (shown here) retails for $19.99.  The toddler set is $12.99.  Short sleeved versions are also available.

Dwell Baby

Dwell Baby

When I first went to register for Baby at Target I thought I’d just get the must-have items. However I quickly realized Target has some pretty cool things. I really love their Dwell Baby collection, especially the Zoo theme. The bedding is 200 thread count and the accessories are too cute.

They have everything from bear rugs, giraffe toys to rhino pillows, and they are affordable. Any little boy would love it. Prices range from $6.99 to $79.99.

Thermos Foogo Toddler Cup

Thermos Foogo Toddler Cup

I just bought the Thermos Foogo sippy cup earlier this week at Target, and was so pleased with it that I went back yesterday and bought a second one for my daughter to use at daycare. While the shape and function of this cup make it immediately recognizable as a sippy cup, there are some significant differences. The most important is that it is made from stainless steel, so it is BPA free. That was what drew me to it in the first place.

On top of that, it keeps beverages cooler (and therefore safer) longer. This makes it ideal for travel. The design is also eye-catching. My daughter picked out the pink and purple one, but I actually like the blue and yellow version better.

We’ve only been using it for a few days, but so far it seems to be working out quite well. I think I am going to do away with our more traditional sippies. At $14.39, this costs a bit more, but it is well worth every penny. I also like that I can easily buy it at a store instead of special ordering online and waiting for delivery. If the cup isn’t available in your area, you can buy on at target.com.

The Thermos Foogo sippy cup was also reviewed at the Bloggin’ Mama Blog.

The Liz Lange Collection

I

The Liz Lange Collection

I love a good deal and even more than that I love comfortable clothing so when I found Target’s Liz Lange collection of t-shirts it was a match made in heaven. These t-shirts are so comfortable that I actually miss wearing them.

They are hip length, 100% cotton stretchy tees that actually fit well. Liz Lange uses a wonderful lightweight fabric that can be worn in the summer or long sleeves in the fall and still be comfortable. The tees are stylish enough to wear to work with a nice pair of slacks.

Plus they start at $9.99 so you can buy several of them. Sold at most Target locations and come in several colors.
