Wonder Pets is one of the few toddler television shows that I can stand at the moment. My three year old loves it, and we love the way she sings the show’s theme song. Like a sale but still want something special? The Alimrose Pink Floppy Monkey Doll caught my eye immediately when I clicked on the sale items at bellydancebaby.com. Plush and pretty and just original enough to stand out, this happy monkey is on sale for $30 ($14 savings.)  I like it for a new baby gift to go along with a sweet soft blanket or a basket of toys and sleepers.  I can’t see this floppy monkey being a flop with any child.

Though I’ve not liked certain Steiff dolls before, I am quite enamored with the Steiff Cosy Friends Dalle Guinea Pig. Though it’s a bit pricy for a stuffed toy at $20, it’s not outrageous and could make a great gift (birthday, baptism, etc.) Several of the other fuzzy Steiff creatures at AgapeBears.com are hard to pass up as well.

Off the beaten path — that is how you can describe Discovery Ratos the Rat by Deglingos. Pull his tail and he vibrates, but the fun doesn’t stop there; squeeze his hands for other fun reactions. Because he’s not for you if you’re under 3, he might not be as entertaining as he looks. I’m just not sure I’d grab this guy up for my 3-year-old, as he’s into more “big boy” toys than this. He resembles a baby toy we have and I think my son would recognize that fact. However, Rato might be something great for pulling out in the car or waiting room for short-term entertainment.  Funny looking, just as a toy rat should be, he’s $35 at FAOSchwarz.com. Not always enough emphasis is put on daddy and child bonding and nurturing when it comes to toys, so I cannot say I have run across anything like this daddy doll hugging baby doggy. It’s 11” high, just perfect for travelling with (not too big, not too small), and makes a lovely gift for a dad-to-be or any child. Though I think it looks more like a bear than a dog, it is cute and cuddly nonetheless and reminiscent of Grandma’s knitted gifts.
