Bla Bla Lion Booties

I have a friend whose second child, a boy, is due in December. Since her first child was a girl, she’s in need of all sorts of boy-themed clothing, and as my son is 4 1/2, I’ve been passing things on to her. I just might have to break down and buy these cute Lion Booties by Bla Bla for her, though. They would look so cute on a newborn’s feet, and as they are made of 100% hand-knit stretchable cotton, they would keep his feet warm and cozy this winter.

Although the booties come in just size 6 months, the manufacturer says they can stretch to accommodate 12 month size feet. These booties are hard to find in many online stores, but are currently available at RosenberryRooms.com for $27. They would make a great shower or Christmas gift.

Nowali Moccasins

My son can’t seem to keep socks, shoes, or slippers on his feet when he’s at home. As soon as he comes home from preschool, off come the shoes, off go the socks, and where they end up nobody knows. He doesn’t want to wear slippers, instead opting to let his feet “breathe.” This makes me nervous, as I don’t want him to get sick (I know, you can’t catch a cold from having bare feet, but it’s what my grandmother and mother have told me for all these years and I can’t help but worry!)

These Nowali Moccasins look like they might actually stay on my son’s feet. They look comfortable, with the sock and the soft leather-soled slipper sewn together. Made in Sweden, they are machine washable, a big plus. They come in a variety of sizes from 6 months to 10 years, and styles for boys and girls, ranging from basic colors to dragons to flowers. They sell for $24.95 at Nowali.com. For that price, I hope the pair I’m ordering today stay on my son’s feet longer than 5 minutes!

Nowali Pink Moccasins

Nowali Pink Moccasins

Rumored to be among the baby gifts Nicole Kidman received for her new daughter, moccasins from Nowali are as practical as they are sweet.  Made from a cotton blend knit upper with a suede sole, these shoes are toasty for little feet and skid resistant to help keep new walkers safe.  They are also machine washable, so you don’t need to worry about keeping them spotless.

These cute little shoes are available in pink, blue, and ivory, and and sizes from 6-18 months.  The company also makes a wide range of other fun moccasins for little feet.  You can purchase a pair for $28 from MilkShop.com.

Pia Wallen Baby Slippers

Made by Swedish designer Pia Wallen, these baby slippers are a simple but modern addition to any little one’s wardrobe. They are made from 100% wool and have a rubber sole. They come in one size, 6 months, but this is estimated to fit a range from 4-9 months, depending on the child’s size.

These slippers are available in either brown or white. I personally like the brown pair, which has a Charlie Brown-esque appeal to me. They charmed the editors at ReadyMade magazine, who featured them among a collection of other hip items for kids. They definitely look like they would be cozy in cold weather.

You can purchase a pair for $39 at modernseed.com.

Boiled Wool Slipper Boots

I’m a sucker for anything Oprah endorses from books to baby clothes. That’s what got me interested in these adorable slipper boots on garnethill.com. These comfortable booties made in Germany are perfect for little ones.

Not only are they soft and durable, they come in great designs that will have your kid asking to wear them all the time (both of my girls do). You can choose from a bunch of different animals like unicorns, elephants, dogs, dragons, sharks, bunnies and penguins to name just a few.

These boiled wool slipper boots are great for toddlers, little kids and big kids. You can pick up a pair for $38. How can Oprah be wrong!?
