Ergopouch Sleep Bag

ergopouch-sleep-bag

Sleep bags and sacks are one of the safest ways to put baby down for a nap or at bedtime. When my son was a baby, I always used sleep sacks, with various weight fabrics for the different seasons. I like the looks of this Ergopouch Sleepbag.Made in Australia of quilted organic cotton with no pesticides or chemicals, the Ergopouch is hypoallergenic, perfect for baby’s sensitive skin. It adheres to all safety regulations. The seamless design of the Ergopouch moves with baby, as it fits snugly yet doesn’t allow baby to get tangled in the sack during sleep. Its double-ended zipper provides easy diaper changing access. It’s a bit steep at the price of $99.95 AUD (about $78 USD), but the manufacturer notes that, as babies spend most of their time in bed, they should do so in comfort, luxury, and safety. You can view the Ergopouch at StyledBaby.com.au, where if you purchase an Ergopouch right now, you can get a pair of Ergopyjamas at half price (use code “ergo” at checkout). They ship worldwide.

Baby Brain iPhone App for Parents by Maternia LLC

baby-brain

Everyone seems to be creating new iPhone apps these days. Here’s one that has a real, necessary purpose: Baby Brain, by Maternia LLC. Created by parents of two babies ages 6 months and 22 months, Baby Brain allows parents to time and record breast or bottle feedings, diaper changes, and sleep habits with just a tap/touch on the iPhone/iPhone touch. It allows you to email reports to spouses, caregivers, or doctors, view daily/weekly/monthly stats, and see your baby’s natural patterns. Recently featured in Forbes magazine, Baby Brain can be purchased at iTunes app store for $4.99.

Kaloo Lilirose Sleep Sack

I am expecting my third cold weather baby, and I have learned that sleep sacks are an absolute must.  They are much safer than blankets, and they help keep babies feeling cozy and happy at night.  I have just discovered the great sleep sacks made by the French company Kaloo.

The Lilirose Sleep Sack is absolutely adorable.  You can tell just from a picture that it is luxuriously thick and soft.  It is clearly made from a different blend of fabrics than most of the sacks I currently have, many of which tend to pill. It is also much easier to use than many other similar sacks, since it opens on three sides, making middle of the night diaper changes much less of a chore.

The sack is designed to fit infants up to 6 months of age.  You can purchase one for $59.99 at MyStrollers.com.

Hermes Baby Blanket

Hermes Baby Blanket

Recently, Tom Cruise has received a lot of media attention for the lavish gift basket he sent to Nicole Kidman and her new baby. Included were items from the upscale French retailer Hermes. Known for their extravagant accessories, Hermes also has a fairly sizable line of products for infants, including the Hermes Baby Blanket.

This baby blanket from the company is made of a wool cashmere blend and measures 40″ x 56.” It features a block “H” print in baby blue and white. While the blanket is classic and luxurious, I have a hard time believing that it is so far superior to other blankets on the market that it warrants its $650 price tag. If you are inclined to purchase one of these blankets, you can check them out at Hermes.com.
