Boys and girls alike will likely have a blast with this Plan Toys Tree House. Made from eco-friendly rubber wood, this imagination-inspiring toy features three levels of fun. A pulley system makes for fun while encouraging fine motor development. The two people who come with the set are sure to have all kinds of adventures of your child’s making. This sure beats the molded plastic Weeble tree house that I had as a kid! You can purchase one of these for $99.99 at oompa.com.

Plan Toys’s Palamino Rocking Horse is a fun, eco-friendly way to keep little ones active and engaged. I love the simple styling and color scheme of this toy, which is sure to last a long time and never go out of style. This horse, which would make a wonderful gift, can be purchased for $70 at thelittleseed.com.

You can get a jump on holiday shopping while saving a bundle with this fun kitchen stove from Plan Toys. Originally $89.99, this high-quality toy is currently on sale for just $49.99 at Oompa.com . We already have great kitchen toys, but I find this deal tempting nonetheless. This is sure to bring a lot of joy to any little cook.

Here’s a great way to inspire some great imaginative play in boys and girls alike. The Eco Town from Plan Toys features a house, train station, street accessories, and a play mat. The Plan Toys WoodPecker Walker is a really sharp-looking push toy for beginning walkers. As the wheels turn, the two woodpeckers move back and forth, “pecking” the wood and making a fun sound. That definitely sounds like it would encourage a little one to get mobile. At $76.50 this toy is also slightly less expensive than other similar toys that I have priced recently. If we didn’t still have wooden walking toys left over from daughter number two, I would likely purchase this for our baby. You can check it out at babyearth.com.

I was flipping through the catalogue that came with our Plan Toys doll house furniture and came upon this adorable picnic play mat. My middle daughter (who is three) is very into pretend play right now. She carries her toy food and dishes all over the house. This is right up her alley, plus it is easily portable and, more importantly, easily contained. I think she would actually enjoy keeping her toy food neat and orderly in this mat. It buttons to keep picnic goods inside and is made from 100% cotton using fair trade practices. You can purchase one for $35 at peekagreen.com.

I bought Plan’s Modern Dollhouse for my three year old on Clearance after Christmas. Since then, I have been trying to hunt down the right furniture for it. I finally found the set that was intended for the dollhouse. It is perfect–just as hip and modern as the house itself. The set includes 26 pieces–enough to set up a living room, kitchen, bathroom, kids’ beds, and a master bedroom. I love the bunk beds. This set will be fun for any dollhouse. Everything is made from chemical-free rubberwood and the colors are non-toxic. I know this is going to be a big hit in our house. You can purchase the set for $59.99 at Oompa.com.

I didn’t know that dominos were still a popular game among children until I saw these Animal Dominos by Plan Toys. Each set is made up of 28 wooden tiles with animal faces painted on them, including alligator, hippo, ladybug, lion, panda, monkey, and elephant. The set comes in a white cotton drawstring bag to keep them all together.
This domino set would make a great gift for a child. Recommended for ages 3 and up, you can purchase these Animal Dominos for $24.99 at Kangarooboo.com.

Until recently, I knew nothing of Plan Toys, where everything is eco-friendly. Therefore, I had never seen anything like their Water Blocks. How interesting for little ones would manipulating blocks with colored water inside be? They can pile them in front of one another and watch the colors change, see the water move, or peek through rose colored…blocks. There’s no end to the possibilities; mix them in with other, regular blocks, play with them on their own, use them for doll chairs—it’s the block for the modern child.
Buy 6 for $24.99 for your child age 2 and up (or decorate shelves in contemporary nurseries for now) at UrthChild.com and see what your child comes up with. You’ll have multi-colored towers and houses sprouting up in no time.

Maybe it’s a remnant from my Southern ancestors still in my blood, but I can’t help stopping and listening whenever I hear banjo music. It looks like such a simple instrument, but great banjo players can get so many intricate sounds to come from it. My son has shown a liking for banjo music as well, which is why I think he’d love this wooden banjo from Plan Toys. Like all of the toys made by this manufacturer, it is eco-friendly and safe, made of plantation rubberwood processed in a chemical-free environment with no wood preservatives. Non-toxic paint and natural latex glue are also used in the production of all Plan Toys.
The banjo has four nylon strings and is tunable. This banjo measures 13″ x 6.3″ x 2.2″ and looks like the perfect banjo for a beginning musician. Recommended for ages 3 and up, you can purchase this banjo from Plan Toys at PokkaDots.com for $25.

Tie-Up Shoe is a simple learning tool. Its solid construction ensures that it will sit much more still than a regular shoe while little ones practice tying bows, leading to less frustration. The bright colors will attract a child’s eyes and the natural materials will make earth-conscious parents happy. I like this for a gift no one else will think of at the shower or party; pair it with a real pair of shoes for the little one and you’ve got a practical and fun present. Great for pre-schools and for homes, they’re only $5.40 at babyearth.com.

Although I’ve told myself I’m done shopping for my 4 1/2 year old son’s Christmas gifts, this wooden drum set from Plan Toys caught my eye today. Not only is it a musical toy (always a plus in our household), it’s also eco-friendly, in that it is made from recovered plantation rubberwood from old rubber trees no longer producing latex and slated for burning. No wood preservatives are used in the processing of this rubberwood, either. Non-toxic paint is used on this drum set, another thing to look for when purchasing toys for your children this holiday season. Natural latex glue is used in all Plan Toys, and their packaging uses no PVC, just recyclable cardboard.
This set just might find a spot underneath our Christmas tree this year. If you’d like to purchase one for your little percussionist, you can buy it for $49 at ModernNursery.com.

Rather than putting the usual plastic ring stacking toy in front of your little one, why not try the Stacking Tree by Plan Toys? Not only is it appealing to the eye but it is eco-friendly, having been constructed in pretty shades of green and from recycled rubberwood. Useful as a learning toy or even as a prop among a child’s houses, dolls, and other figurines, the Stacking Tree is a great choice this Christmas for eco-conscious moms looking for variations on the traditional.
Offered for $18 at babyearth.com, it would make a great holiday gift.

The Tower Pounding from Plan Toys is made from natural, chemical free rubber wood and finished with non-toxic and child friendly colors. But the really important thing is that kids can pound away.
There’s something very traditional about wooden toys. Maybe it’s that in our high tech world with buzzers buzzing, and lights flashing, our children’s own personal creativity can get washed over or overwhelmed. With a more simply designed toy like the Tower Pounding From Plan Toys, our children can be more involved and take more initiative.

I have been doing my best to rid our house of plastic and/or electronic toys. Luckily, with the holidays fast approaching, there are plenty of great alternatives out there. We are big tea drinkers in our house, so of course I loved this tea set from Plan Toys as soon as I saw it.
The recycled rubberwood set comes with a teapot, a milk pitcher, 2 tea cups and saucers, 2 spoons, 2 pieces of sugar, and a sugar bowl. My favorite pieces are the 2 tea bags. They are as cute as can be. I know this set would be a hit with my not quite three year old. She loves play food, and I’m sure she would enjoy the opportunity to make tea just like the grown-ups do.
Our family has yet to be disappointed with any of our Plan toys, so I have no qualms about recommending this one. You can purchase the set for $22.50 at babyearth.com.
