BlueBird Cage Mini Décor Pillow

We have a nature themed playroom, with prints of trees, a lovely bluish-green paint color, and green toile curtains in it, so I thought the BlueBird Cage Mini Décor Pillow would fit in perfectly. If you feel the same way, I’m sure the sweet birds and perfectly placed ladybugs are sure to delight any children who come to play in your play zone will love it as well. 7 ” tall x 6 ” wide and $18 from Etsy seller  mymimi, it’s a nice addition to a child-friendly room.

Cowboy Dusk Boudoir Pillow by Dwell Studios

Cowboy Dusk Boudoir Pillow

Doing a very boyish nursery or child’s room? Have a gander at the Cowboy Dusk Boudoir Pillow. Made by Dwell Studios, it is a great place to start for your little cowpoke’s new digs. Choose one of the colors from within for the walls of the room, such as the lighter blue or grey, and do the bedding in one of the more saturated shades, like the teal. Add matching curtains and a rug in a great shade of brown, add a white dresser and some furniture with antique qualities and you’ve got a room done nicely but not overdone.

The pillow is $39 on Amazon.com and with that stocked up site, it wouldn’t be difficult to finish off the rest of the room all in one spot.  The Dwell Studio fitted crib sheet in chocolate (Baby Thin Stripe) is a good place to start at $35. Add in the Wild West themed change pad cover by JoJo Designs for $19.99 and you’ll soon find it’ll all come together with ease.

Personalized Heart Appliqué Pillow by SouthernSassyPants

Personalized Heart Appliqué Pillow by SouthernSassyPants

There is something so lovely about anything personalized, especially with a child’s name or initials. I love to give gifts with a person’s name or initials on as it truly is such a unique present. I especially love these heart appliqué pillows from the etsy boutique SouthernSassyPants. It has soft and velvety minky dot material with a bright pink heart, green initial and matching pom poms and polka dots too. It not only looks extremely well made, but soft and comfortable too.  There are lots of color choices and fabrics to choose from at this online boutique, for both girls and boys. You can pick the letter of your choice monogrammed onto the pillow. As my son’s name is a little on the long side we stick to his first initial, so he would love one of these in boy colors.

These would make a wonderful gift for a child’s room or nursery and you can pick out whatever colors fit best. The pillow itself is 12” X 12” and sells for $39.50. This seller has a number of similar style personalized pillows so make sure you visit the store at etsy.com.

Toddler Coddler Car Seat Head Supporter Pillow

One of the biggest problems we have when traveling is our son’s head flopping to the side when he falls asleep in his car seat. Once when my husband had to put on the brakes suddenly, my sleeping son’s head and neck came out of the seat so far we were afraid he’d been hurt. Luckily, he hadn’t, but we’re conscious now as soon as he falls asleep in the car seat of keeping an eye on him in the rearview mirror and waking him if his head starts to flop.

This Toddler Coddler Car Seat Head Supporter Pillow looks like a much better alternative to waking our son every 5 minutes. It says it works with any forward-facing car or booster seat to keep a child’s head and neck from slumping side to side. (Not sure about slumping forward, probably nothing can prevent that). The ad says it also works with strollers and joggers. Recommended for ages 12 months and up, you can purchase the Toddler Coddler for $22.98 at NetKidsWear.com.

Dwell Baby Bird Boppy Pillow

I had a bit of Boppy envy when I was strolling through Target the other day. I bought a new Boppy there while I was pregnant.  It was definitely the nicest, most plush Boppy I had ever seen–until now.  While this Bird Boppy is similar in construction to the pillow I bought, the design is so much cuter. Mine was such a big help in the early days of nursing. It made positioning my little one and getting her latched on so much easier. While I no longer use it for feeding, I often prop her up on it and she seems quite content.  Luckily, she doesn’t know she missed out on this fun bird design. If you are in the market for a Boppy, you can snap one of these up for $49.99 in Target stores or online at Target.com.

EZ-2 Nurse Twins Pillow

There is no reason why you can’t breastfeed when you have twins. While it is slightly more complicated and intense, it can definitely be done. Because traditional nursing pillows are just not big enough for two babies, you need something specifically made for multiples if you want to tandem nurse.

This pillow featured on the site  doubleblessings.com is fabulous for the mother who wants to nurse both babies at once and save herself time. I personally needed someone to help me set up the babies the times I wanted to tandem nurse, though there are testimonials from women on the site who were able to tandem nurse all by themselves. Even if you decide to tandem nurse only once in a while, this pillow is still helpful to have. Especially if you had a c-section like I did, you will find it much easier and less painful at first to use a pillow even when nursing just one baby at a time.

It has a washable cover and includes a small pillow to put behind your back for added comfort. There are various prints to choose from, though I think the “twins print” is the most interesting as it offers you some reading material. It sells for $50 on doubleblessings.com, though you can sometimes find one on craigslist for about half price.

Organic Wool Dream Pillow by Dress Me Up

This Organic Wool Dream Pillow by Dress Me Up is made from certified organic cotton and upcycled wool blanketing, filled with clean, carded wool. It also contains a sachet of lavender flowers for a sweet scent. Although I wouldn’t want to place this pillow in baby’s crib, it would make a sweet baby shower gift for the mother-to-be, as a reminder of the little heart she’s awaiting.

Mini Fairy Princess Tooth Fairy Pillow

Mini Fairy Princess Tooth Fairy Pillow

When I was little, my sister had a pillow for the tooth fairy.  I was never quite so fortunate, and had to make do with sticking my lost teeth directly under my pillow.  Maybe that is why I always take a second look at tooth pillows when I encounter them.  I’m not sure I have ever seen one quite so unique and detailed as these that are available from MyRetroBaby.com.  Certainly my sister’s was not nearly this impressive!

Each pillow features a tooth fairy, who is printed directly on the fabric using archival ink.  A sparkly fabric forms the tooth pocket.  Clear glass beads accent the pocket and each pillow features a grosgrain ribbon as trim.  A medallion hangs from the ribbon and can be customized with a name or a word such as “believe” or “dream.” The pillow is stuffed with non-allergenic fiberfill and features a white satin handle that allows your daughter to proudly display the pillow when not in use.

Any little girl will love having this pillow, which enhances the magic of losing those first teeth.  You can purchase one for $56 at MyRetroBaby.com.  A larger version is also available.

Hi Mr Giant Sequoia Pillow

Hi Mr Giant Sequoia Pillow

Sometimes you see an accessory that stands out so much that you want to plan entire room around it. The impressive Hi Tree! Mr Giant Sequoia Pillow is one such item. This incredible pillow is made by hand from layers of wool felt and stuffed with fiberfill. I can imagine some incredible nurseries, bedrooms, and playrooms designed around this great piece of fabric art.

The tree measures 25 inches in height by 19 inches in width. It can be used as a wall-hanging, a floor pillow–the sky is the limit. Best of all, this piece will no doubt inspire your child’s creativity and love of nature.

Unfortunately, such quality construction doesn’t come cheap. Be prepared to pay $200 to bring this pillow home. (A smaller version is also available for $100 at the site) .You can purchase one at tinydecor.com.

CozyMe Infant Pillow

tummy time

When my first daughter was born nearly ten years ago, there was really only once choice when it came to buying a feeding/support pillow for your infant.  Today there are definitely a lot more options.  The CozyMe Company, for example, offers this unique twist on classic support pillows.  It features a crescent-shaped support which is perfect for nursing (or bottle feeding) your child.  What is innovative about this product is that the pillow has a cut-out at its center.  This makes a perfect space for your child to safely explore tummy time.  Alternately, the pillow comes with a wedge that can be used to fill that space.  You can therefore control the amount of support that your child needs as he or she grows.

The product was created by a pediatric physical therapist, which gives you a sense of the thought and experience behind its development.  It is the winner of an iParenting Media Award.  The product is also made in the USA–one more thing you can feel good about.

The CozyMe Pillow comes in a variety of fun prints.  You can purchase one at TheCozyMeCompany.com.  Prices range from $29.95 to $49.95 depending on fabric.  Additional covers are available as well.

Draw On Me Cushions Elephant by Zid Zid Kids

Draw on Me Cushions Elephant

You might have to spend a little time convincing your child that it really is ok to color on the Draw On Me Cushions Elephant by Zid Zid Kids. Your child can use washable or permanent markers, tempera paints, buttons, ribbons, bells, and fabric scraps or whatever else she can think of. It’s a fun way to encourage your child to express her creativity. There is no “right” way to decorate this project. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

This pillow is handmade with 100% soft cotton flannel and 100% polyfilled and is washable. The elephant is adorned with vintage buttons. It measures 8 x 11 inches (21 x 26 cm) and is recommended for ages 3 years and up.

Morning Glory Slate Gift Set by Sugar Sweet Baby

morning glory slate pillow set

Sugar Sweet Baby offers a number of eye-catching wraps, blankets, and accessories.  When I was browsing their site, I was immediately drawn to this Morning Glory Slate Gift Set.  I absolutely love this fabric combination.  The set includes a gorgeous pillow (11 x 13) and a matching blanket (25 x 35).  Both are packed with plush minky fabric which is very popular right now and is super soft.  The blanket has a bamboo lining for extra softness.

I think the fabric and color scheme make this set perfect for either a boy or a girl.  It makes a great set for home, and would also be perfect for daycare.  In fact, it would no doubt make your child stand out wherever he or she goes.

This set is currently on sale for $55 at sugarsweetbaby.com.  While you are there, check out the other gorgeous blankets and accessories.
