Peg Perego Tender Double Stroller

Peg Perego Tender Double Stroller

This is our first big purchase for the new baby. I wasn’t planning on buying a double stroller so early in my pregnancy, but I found a great deal on the Tender Double Stroller locally, and knew I couldn’t pass it up. We already have two Peg Perego strollers, so I trust the brand completely.

After watching my friend struggle with her side-by-side double, I decided that this style is the way to go. I tried it out by putting my two year old in the front, and was amazed by how easy it was to steer even with the unbalanced weight.  Other great features about this stroller include the fact that it folds easily and is amazingly compact for a double stroller.  It also can stand upright when folded, which is a nice feature that I haven’t seen before.

Both seats have five point harnesses for safety, and the stroller is compatible with the Peg Perego infant car seat, which was a big plus for me. Finally, it is very stylish. You will definitely feel hip pushing this stroller even if you are a slightly frazzled mother of two little ones.

You can purchase one on sale for $584.99 at barebabies.com.

Peg Perego Pliko P3 Stroller

Peg Perego Pliko P3 Stroller

I bought this stroller originally thinking that it was just going to be a secondary stroller that I kept in my car. Instead, I ended up using it as my primary stroller while my much larger carriage system sits at home.

The reason is that although this stroller has small wheels, it has no trouble navigating sidewalks and curbs. It also folds easily and neatly, which allows me to stash it in a corner or under a booth in a restaurant.

In the early days, it also was compatible with my Peg car seat. A unique feature of this stroller is that the canopy can be stretched to reach all the way to the tray—protecting your child completely if a rain shower pops up.

Other things to love about this stroller are its aesthetically-pleasing design, its easy to remove tray, and its sizeable basket. It also has a five point harness, and reclines completely for infants (or sleeping toddlers). You can buy one for $339.95 at www.store.babycenter.com.

Peg Perego Primo Viaggio Car Seat

peg perego primo viaggio car seat

I love this infant seat. My younger daughter used it until she outgrew it, a friend borrowed it for her son, and when this next baby arrives he or she will use it too. There are many things that I like about this seat. As far as car seats go, it was relatively easy to install, and it has an indicator to help you identify whether it is sitting level in your vehicle.

Of course you want to have a safe seat, but this is also a great-looking seat. I definitely enjoyed showing off my baby in it. It also snaps easily into both my Peg Pliko stroller and the chassis of my Peg carriage system.

My only complaints would be that the handle could use some padding, and that my daughter outgrew this seat rather early. She is a tiny thing, but she moved into a convertible at five months because I felt like this was getting a little snug. Overall, though, I would highly recommend this seat. You can buy one for $190 at babyuniverse.com.

Stokke Tripp Trapp High Chair

I’ve written before about my disappointment with my Peg Perego high chair. Although I invested a lot of money in it, I’m not sure I want to use it again with baby number three. While looking for possible alternatives, I discovered the Stokke Tripp Trapp High Chair. I remember seeing this a few years ago and not taking it too seriously, maybe because it is so modern looking. Now I can see the benefits of its simple design. Made of beech (with several colors to choose from), the seat is ergonomically-designed to support little ones, and it comes with a five point harness for safety. Not only will it blend in well visually with your dining room furniture, but there is no tray, so baby can join the family at the table. Another advantage of this seat’s design is that it will grow with your child for years. It can hold up to 300 pounds! You can buy one for $229.99 at thelandofnod.com. The cushion is sold separately. Celebrity parents including Julianne Moore are fans of this seat.

Baby Lola Boutique Car Seat Cover

If you are bored with traditional car seat designs, or looking to make your son’s old car seat look a bit more feminine for a new baby girl, you might want to look into these fun car seat covers. Many of the available fabric combinations weren’t quite to my taste, but I find this one to be quite attractive. It would certainly make your car seat stand out. The inner part of the cover is made of a pink and white minky dot fabric, which is all the rage in blankets these days. I love the bold floral print on the canopy and sides. Covers are designed to fit most car seat models from Peg Perego, Britax, Graco, Chico, and Combi. Each cover costs $234.99. While this is about what I remember paying for my car seat, you can think of it as a more environmentally-friendly alternative to purchasing a completely new seat. Matching accessories are also available. You can buy one at bundlesofblossoms.com.

Peg Perego Prima Pappa Diner High Chair

I knew that I wanted to avoid traditional high chairs with teddy bears or jungle animals on them. I was drawn to this high chair because I have been happy with other Peg Perego products and because its appearance fit nicely into my home. I still am fond of the way the high chair looks, but I have to say that this is the one Peg Perego item that I have been less than impressed with overall. Although a removable tray simplifies clean up to some extent, I had a horrible time trying to keep it clean. Food gets trapped in the creases of the leatherette cover and is hard to get out without taking the cover completely off the high chair. Somehow I could never get the tray close enough to my daughter (she is on the small side), so there were lots of spills. If the sleek design is all the convincing you need, you can buy one for about $170 at babyuniverse.com.
