Gap Maternity Long Peacoat

Gap Maternity Long Peacoat

As cold weather returns, I’m reminded of how much I struggled to find a maternity coat last winter.  I ended up making do with my existing coats, unfastened (luckily, I don’t get cold very easily). This Gap Maternity Long Peacoat looks like a nice option if you are in that same boat this year. This is the kind of style that can go to the office, but can also be dressed down–which is great if you don’t want to buy more than one maternity coat. It also looks like it will serve well as transition wear–I know I for one was unfortunately unable to fasten most of my coats in the months after giving birth. This versatile coat retails for $148 at gap.com. Based on customer reviews, however, I’d recommend visiting a store to get the sizing right. Hopefully you’ll have better luck finding a Gap with maternity wear than I did!

Bonpoint Look No. 30

bonpoint

Shiloh Jolie-Pitt was adorable in her Bonpoint peacoat ($255) recently in InStyle magazine. Simple but elegant lines and a charcoal shade complement her coloring and the gray creates a nice contrast for her blonde hair. My favorite Bonpoint look is Look No. 30, with muted shades of fun polka dots, sweet little shorts, and a purse to go with it.

The Bonpoint site is just as elegant as Shiloh’s jacket is (even if I’m pretty sure it is a boy’s coat) with a simple but pleasing to the eye layout. Understated seems to be the philosophy behind the bonpoint-boutique.com and I’m loving it. I’d mix in a bit more color, knowing me, but I’m all for elegance, even in children. The details are all carefully taken care of, right down to scarves and coordinating stuffed animals to go with the outfits. Prices are in Euros and ordering information can be found on the site.
