Recently, I bought baby be yoga pants for my baby on Etsy.com. I love the Brown Elie (elephant) and found the perfect top to match it to in my littlest son’s closet. There are matching tops for sale, if you like a full ensemble. Though I thought they were more of a Gi material, they are actually a simple pair of cotton pants. Therefore, I might have paid a bit much for them at $15, they were just too cute to pass up. Available in 0-3. 3-6, and 18-24 Month sizes, they’re precious on, have a lot of give for cloth diapers and growing, and look comfy as can be. The seller is very helpful and friendly, something I value when buying online.

If I love the comfort of yoga pants, it only stands to reason that my baby will too. When I saw the yoga pants on ittletreehouse.ca, I swooned over the rainbow of colors and was glad to see that they were organic cotton. Besides the fact that my son wears cloth diapers and needs roomy pants, I hate to constrict him in pants that have no give. Just because they are called “lounge pants,” doesn’t mean they are purely for wearing around the house. I would send any of my girls out and about in these. While traditional baby clothes are fun, sometimes its nice to mix things up a bit with a bold and unexpected print. That’s the idea behind these Flower Power pants from Sweet Peanut. Made in sizes from 0-3 months up to 6-12 months, these soft, 100% cotton pants are as eye-catching as they are cozy. Here’s a great look for fall that won’t break the bank. Available in a number of shades, these cords feature cute little pockets, complete with buttons. The current trend for young boys of wearing plaid shorts and cropped pants is definitely a cute one. I like the preppy but off-the-beaten-track feel of it and would gladly let my son have some if he expressed interest. These pants from L.L.Bean may not be super-exciting to look at, but they have several great features. Like many popular designs for kids, these can be zipped off into shorts. When you’re pregnant, finding comfortable pants can be almost impossible. The Everywear Pant by Ingrid & Isabel is supposed to solve that problem. I love the breezy summer look of these ruffle pants from the Hawaiian company Chase n’ Sky. Simple, comfortable, and elegant, they are perfect for everyday wear, but just sophisticated enough that you could dress them up. My daughter has a similar pair of pants and we absolutely love them. Organic baby clothing can be expensive, as can kimono style baby outfits, but I found a great sale price at Sckoon.com on a Zen kimono/pants set. They have a cloud motif, which they describe on the site as a symbol of freedom, and are sold in 6/12 M sizes for a sale price of $9.99. That’s only $20 for a pant and top set that would normally cost $40! Get a hat to match for $7.99 and you’re all set with a super cute outfit or a luxurious gift for a baby shower.

I love this look for a little boy. Made by Kate Quinn Organics, these Military Crops are super cute and made for comfort. Constructed from 100% organic cotton, they feature front, back, and cargo pockets and close with a zip fly. The cropped length is perfect for spring weather. Little boys will be able to run, climb, and tumble to their hearts’ content in these pants. They are available in several color choices and in sizes from 3-6 months up to 8 years. My son’s fluffy cloth diapered bum means that it is tougher to find pants that fit nicely. After doing some asking around, I found naartjie.com which had decent prices but not a lot of selection. I liked the $19.95 Gecko fleece pants, which came in several sizes (3-6M, 6-12M, 12-18M, 18-24M, and 2T) and neutral colors (cement, creek, and storm cloud.) They’re 100% cotton, equipped with lots of pockets for carrying all the stuff little guys pick up, and can be thrown in the machine for washing out all the dirt from playing hard.  

An option many moms swear by is the Wiggle Pants collection by Hanna Andersson. They’re less expensive and roomy in the bum, with specially sewn seams for wiggle room. Made in organic cotton (a lovely material I favor), they are only $16.50 at HannaAndersson.com. They come in all kinds of colors for boys or girls, including white, red, pink and blue.

There are so many things to think about when you’re having a baby and how to fit their bums in pants shouldn’t have to be one of them! Hopefully I’ve done some of the work for you; I think these two sites are a great place to start for your cloth-bottomed baby.
 

I had to smile at the irony of receiving Hanna Andersson’s new spring catalog on one of the coldest days of the year. It definitely makes me long for warmer weather. In general I am excited for summer when our baby will be sitting up, starting to crawl, and all the other things that make the 6 month age so much fun. I just bought the navy and white version of these Mini Stripe Pants from Pottery Barn Kids for my three-year-old.  I like the way they look, and they seem like they are super-comfortable.  With an elastic waist and wide legs, they are easy to get on and off, which makes them perfect for my daughter as she masters going to the bathroom independently. She wears them with a long white tunic, and the look is very clean, classic, and casual.
