I’ve just discovered a new product that I’m really anxious to try: MOBOS Modular Storage Units. These come in various shapes, sizes, and colors, and can be used for storage throughout the house: books, magazines, toys, diapering essentials, just about anything you can think of could be stored in MOBOS. The many unique styles, colors, and designs available allow you to coordinate with your room’s decor, and storage hooks and safety brackets are also sold with them to ensure proper, safe installation. They are eco-friendly as well, made of recycled steel and with non-toxic paint. What a unique, stylish storage solution. I can picture these in various rooms in our home right now. You can picture them yourself at ILoveMobos.com, where they sell for prices starting at $29.99 each.

These home storage bins from Dwell Studio are a great way to help keep the clutter in check. Available in several different patterns (that coordinate with other Dwell Studio products), these bins measure 15″ x 17″ x 15,” which is big enough to hold quite a few toys, shoes, or cold-weather accessories. These originally retailed for $80 each, but you can currently purchase one on sale for $64 at designpublic.com. Not all colors are on sale.

One of the first things to go when I became a mother was any type of organization in the files in our home office. Whereas I used to be such a stickler for having everything in its place, I quickly learned after the birth of my son that having piles of information sometimes has to suffice when there’s no time to organize. Yet, when I needed to find a crucial piece of info, such as immunization records for my son when I signed him up for Kindergarten a few weeks ago, I scramble and search and am sure it’s lost, then after much frustration, finally find it.
The My Child’s HealthChart, created by Dr. Amrita Sawhney, solves the problem of disorganized health files. It includes special forms, a sectioned 3-ring binder, divider tabs, and more to keep your child’s health information in place. With My Child’s HealthChart, you can store birth information, immunizations, prescription receipts, bills, insurance information…anything you can think of that you might need to lay hands on quickly at a later date. The chart arrives fully assembled, a big help to moms as well. Plus, Dr. Sawhney says, the chart is made in the United States from environmentally friendly materials. I think I’m going to have to get one of these. It sells for $39.50 at OrganizedHealth.com. They also sell health charts for adults and pets.

It seems we never have enough storage spots for toys in our home. No matter how many bins, shelves, or boxes I accumulate, toys somehow still end up scattered on the floor of my son’s room or throughout our family room. Maybe if I bought a cute, kid-friendly storage bin, it would help my son get used to actually picking up his things and putting them away.
This one from 3 Sprouts might do the trick. The Elephant Storage Bin is made from organic cotton canvas with ecospun felt made from recycled water bottles - so it’s also a purchase that’s good for the planet, not just for my household! The bins come with elephant or owl applique on the front, and collapse when not in use. Standing 17″ high and with a 20″ diameter, it should be large enough to handle smaller toys (the ones that seem to scatter the most). You can purchase this cute, eco-friendly bin for $39 at artebebe.com.

Don’t you hate it when you have to fish your way through everything in your diaper bag or purse to find a small item (such as lotion or even goldfish crackers?) These Ity Bity Bags are the solution to that problem. Designed by Lisa Macchia, these bags are made from cotton with handcrafted designs featuring cotton candy, happy food, retro rocket, or goldfish, with a zipper at the top. Measuring 6″ x 4″, they are the perfect size to keep small items from mixing with bigger ones in any bag. I just might have to order one of these for my own purse. You can order one for yourself at thebabygardener.com, where each Ity Bity Bag sells for $15.

I was horrified this morning when I saw the state of the inside of my car. It looked as if I had multiple children along with all their belongings stacked into my medium sized car, rather than just the one untidy toddler that I do have. We are planning a couple of long car trips this summer, and my son has a habit of throwing everything on the floor, so we’ve been looking for something to hold more than the backseat organizers.
The Family Car Organizer by Tuffo is the perfect product for keeping all the necessities packed away tidily. It is made of rugged vinyl so it can easily be wiped clean after use and the carry strap means you can take it in the house after use without any hassle. It consists of two drinks holders, eight side pockets, as well as removable and adjustable dividers to hold anything from toys, snacks, books, diapers, wipes, DVDs etc. It is also insulated to keep any drinks or food cool and fresh. The organizer anchors to a seatbelt so will safely stay in place during any journey.
One of the things I love most about this product (and yet it doesn’t show this in any of the pictures online) is the reinforced lid that you can use as a tabletop. It has raised sides so it would be perfect for any activity on the road. I have seen cheaper products on the market but this one really does seem to be worth the price and I’m hoping it will help keep my car more organized in the future. You can purchase one at LeapsAndBounds.com for $34.95.

Parents know that strollers can be bulky and hard to store when not in use. Even the most compact stroller that folds up can occupy too much space in a closet. That’s what inspired mom Mary Ann Schwanwede to design Stroll Away, the over-the-door stroller storage system. Made of heavy duty steel, Stroll Away is like a gigantic “hook” designed to slide over the door easily, and it folds flat when not in use. Marketed by Metro Tots, Stroll Away is adjustable to 9 different positions and said to fit most, if not all, stroller models. The company is currently working on creating a multi-stroller rack and a wall mount for the garage. You can purchase Stroll Away for $49.99 at MetroTots.com.

If you’re looking for an eco-friendly solution to keep your child’s toys organized, you might want to check out The Bertie Box. Made by Kiersten Hathcock of mod mom furniture, the box is made of baltic birch and birch plywood. It’s low to the ground, measuring 17 inches wide x 18 inches deep x 15.5 inches tall, and has casters to make it easier to move around. The interior is natural birch. The bird on the top has a wing cut-out which acts as the hand-held opening for lifting the lid. The entire box is coated with low voc, water-based polyurethane for sheen and protection. It’s so attractive, it might even inspire your children to put away their own toys!
Hathcock produces quality modern/mid-century style children’s furniture, inspired by her own kids’ wants and needs. She only uses eco- friendly birch plywood, non-toxic paints, water-based stains and low-voc, water-based finishes. You can view Hathcock’s beautiful furniture at modmomfurniture.com. To purchase her furniture, you can go to her Etsy shop at Etsy.com, where The Bertie Box sells for $299.

I love things that organize and make messy into neat. One of the daily chores I had when my three children were all toddlers was picking up their toys and such all around the house - everyday. I finally got the idea of having a few laundry baskets around the house just for tossing in toys, books, sweaters, etc. Later in the evening when the house was quiet, I could sort through one basket at a time. It saved time and energy during the day.
This colorful Pop-Up Organizer by Sassy would make a fun alternative to the old laundry basket — and it’s so much more attractive. Maybe it will attract your kids to pick up their toys and toss them in. Visit babyearth.com to view this item. It is priced at just $17.95.

This is such an innovative idea that when I saw it, I had to read more about it. The Boon Bug Pod looks like a toy but actually stores bath toys. It’s more than just a storage area, however. The pod has a drainable scoop to collect and rinse toys, plus a wall-mounted base to store them. You can use the enclosed adhesive strips or screws to mount the Boon Bug Pod to the wall. All of this will help to keep mold and mildew to a minimum, an important consideration when dealing with your child’s health and well-being while having fun in the bathtub.
The Boon Bug Pod seems like a vast improvement over the mesh bag that attaches to the bathtub wall with suction cups that I currently use to store bath toys, which is constantly falling off the wall. The Boon Bug Pod measures 11″ x 17″ x 7 1/2″ and sells for $35.99 at KangarooBoo.com.

This is a great table and chair set for kids because it’s at their height level and the “chairs” are low padded cubes (with inside storage just under the lids). This Octagon Play Table & Storage Cubes by Pottery Barn Kids has a solid wood frame with a chalkboard surface and a raised edge to keep chalk and toys in place. The play mat (sold separately) has a Chinese checkers board on one side and a traditional checkers board on the reverse side.
The table dimensions are 40×40x18.5″h. The Storage Cubes come in Orange, Red, Green and Navy. The table is priced separately at $149 and each of the Storage cubes is priced at $49 at PotteryBarnKids.com. This set is so attractive, not just to the eye, but it “attracts” family fun time together.

Here’s a cheerful and elegant way to keep your child’s toys organized and out of sight. The Bertie Toy Box is the perfect height for a child–which increases the chances that your little one will actually pick up after herself. Casters allow you to easily move the box from one room to another without a fuss, but lock in place for stability when the box is where you want it.
This gorgeous chest is made from eco-friendly birch playwood and non-toxic finishes. The sweet bird design makes it extra special. It would look great in a bedroom, playrooom, or nursery, and would likely blend in well with other living spaces as well. You can purchase one for $475 at moderntots.com.

This looks like the ultimate diaper bag to me. The Cambio Hobo Diaper Bag by Petite Planet is coated in teflon, to make it easy to wipe any messes off. It has functional outside pockets and includes a changing mat, wipes holder, diaper storage canvas, thermal bottle holder, cosmetic bag, and cell phone pocket, plus loads of space for diapers and anything else you might need to carry. It measures 11″ H x 17″ L x 4″ W. Not only will you look modern and trendy with this diaper bag, you’ll also have everything you need to take care of baby (and will be able to find it in this organized bag).
You can purchase the Cambio Hobo Diaper Bag by Petite Planet at AnnaBean.com, where it sells for $104.

How many times have you gone on a family trip with bags of different things to keep your children occupied? One bag holds books and crayons, another food, and yet another drinks. The Kids Car Organizer by Talus looks like it would make it so much easier to keep all of those important things together and organized during road trips. It is big, measuring 10.5″ w x 10″ h x 14″ deep, and has many accessories to keep everything in its place. These include two cup holders, a flip-top tray, two large pockets, and two small pockets. It looks roomy enough to carry anything you could possibly need, even for a long trip. The organizer is said to be sturdy enough to use as a “table” to draw or color on, and crayons and toys won’t slide off.
You can purchase the Talus Kids Car Organizer at FamilyOnBoard.com, where it sells for $35.

I used to toss all my children’s bath toys into a basket near the tub, which meant they dripped on the floor and usually took up too much room. Peli’s Play Pouch Bathtub Toy Storage by Juvenile Solutions eliminates the puddles on the floor and only takes up room inside the tub where the toys can drip dry.
View this item at inchbug.com where it is priced for only $16.95. For all the baths your children will take, I think this Bathtub Toy Storage is well worth its price.
