O yuck! and O yum! Baby Bibs

o yuck! and o yum! baby bibs

Recently I was browsing though Oprah’s magazine, O, and I came across these adorable baby bibs. They’re available in two styles: O yuck! and O yum! and both styles are available in blue or pink. We learn, as parents, which foods elicit which response from our babies (even if they can’t speak the words yet, it’s usually written all over their faces!) I think these would make cute new baby or baby shower gifts. Made of 100% cotton with a velcro closure, you can purchase these bibs for $11 each at OprahStore.Oprah.com.

Zoe Hoodies by Hand Picked Pumpkin

Adorable twins Bronwyn Golden and Slater Josiah appeared on a recent episode of Oprah with their parents Angela Bassett and Courtney B. Vance wearing hoodies specially created for them by Hand Picked Pumpkin.

Even in summer weather you’ll need a lightweight jacket. With the weather changes we’ve been experiencing these days, observant moms will be sure to pack this Zoe Hoodie for “just in case.” Made from 100% interlock cotton. This darling hoodie is available in sizes up to 24 months in a variety of colors and patterns. You can buy one ready-made for $54, or customize your own for $64, at HandPickedPumpkin.com.

Boiled Wool Slipper Boots

I’m a sucker for anything Oprah endorses from books to baby clothes. That’s what got me interested in these adorable slipper boots on garnethill.com. These comfortable booties made in Germany are perfect for little ones.

Not only are they soft and durable, they come in great designs that will have your kid asking to wear them all the time (both of my girls do). You can choose from a bunch of different animals like unicorns, elephants, dogs, dragons, sharks, bunnies and penguins to name just a few.

These boiled wool slipper boots are great for toddlers, little kids and big kids. You can pick up a pair for $38. How can Oprah be wrong!?

Monkey-Toes Shoes

Monkey-Toes Shoes

These shoes have received a lot of press recently, after Tom Cruise told Oprah that they were Suri’s favorites. Denise Richards is also a big fan of the line. The shoes really are sweet. Suri’s pair feature ladybugs, but you can also buy frogs, cows, bugs, pigs, spiders, monsters, bees, and of course, monkeys.

Shoes are made from painted canvas with a rubber sole. Although I definitely think they are cute, to me they don’t look like they have a ton of support for little feet. Since the line has so many fans, however, I may be wrong! You can buy a pair for $29 at monkey-toes.com. Matching socks are also available.

Thank you, Baby Bargains

Baby Bargains Book

When I got pregnant one of the first things I wanted to know was what products do I need and where is a book I can read great reviews of these products. Baby Bargains is that book. This book is fantastic and I’ve recommended it to several people.

It tells you exactly what you’re going to need, when to buy it, which one to buy and how much it will cost. What is even better about this book is it also tells you what you will not need.

Every single product I registered for and eventually bought myself was first checked out in this book. It is the book to keep in your purse the reviews are so good. Oprah even recommends it!

Most major book stores carry it for $15.95.

TummyTs

As an advertising writer by day, I’m always a sucker for really cool and witty writing on any kind of product, especially maternity wear. I can say that I am a proud owner of shirts that loudly shouts “knocked up” and “all my husband asked for was a back rub.” That’s why I love TummyTs. These clever shirts have fun little designs right over your baby bump that have cute pictures or phrases. My personal favorite is the Jill tank with a super-cute cartoon picture of a little baby-girl so everyone who sees you will know who’s on her way! The great thing about this line is that it is made to take you from when you first start to show all the way to your final days of pregnancy, you can’t beat that! They go great with jeans and can help you stay fashionable even when you feel like you might blow up. Check out these fun shirts at tummyts.com. This tank goes for $38.00. Oh…and these tanks are endorsed by Oprah!

Kashwere Diamond Cable Cardigan

Oprah named Kashwere’s robes to her favorite things list in 2005. Sarah Jessica Parker’s son has a cover-up made by the company. Numerous celebrity parents including Jennifer Garner, Denise Richards, and Kate Hudson are fans of Kashwere. So, what is Kashwere? It is a soft fabric is designed to be a practical alternative to cashmere. It is used in the robes featured at many high end spas due to its luxurious feel. The company’s super-soft line of infant and children’s products brings that same level of luxury to your little one. At $68 this cardigan is a little pricey, but much less so than cashmere. You can buy one at kashwereathome.com.

Glamajama T-Shirts and Onesies

Glamajama T-shirts are one trend that I’m not in love with. This line of embellished shirts and onesies has quite a following and has received a lot of media attention. Glamajama products have appeared on the Today Show, Oprah, and E!’s The Daily 10. Celebrities are snapping them up left and right. Britney Spears, Kate Hudson, Demi Moore, and Angela Bassett are only a few of the stars who own items from the collection, which also includes clothes for moms. Lisa Rinna even wore a Glamajama shirt on Dancing with the Stars. There are all kinds of designs—from the sweet to the funky and everything imaginable in between. Despite all the hype, I just can’t ever imagine putting my kids in one of these shirts, particularly not one that features gold “chains” and the words “Gold Digger.” I guess I just don’t have the right sense of humor. If you think you do, you’ll enjoy the many designs at glamajama.com.

Fleurville Sling Tote Diaper Bag

I consider myself to be somewhat of a collector of designer diaper bags, and my Fleurville bags are some of my favorites. I bought the first one online without realizing that the bag is constructed with a plastic coating. I was taken aback at first, but I now appreciate the genius of this design. Two years later, my first Fleurville still looks brand new because it is so easy to keep clean. The interiors of these bags are very well designed, too, with perfectly-sized storage pockets and compartments. They also come with a changing pad, a wipes case, and an insulated bottle holder. Rings allow you to effortless attach the bag to your stroller, which is a lifesaver! I have both a sling tote and a Mothership bag. The sling tote is great for everyday use. I find the Mothership a bit cumbersome at times, but it is great if you need to carry a lot with you, and it doubles as a very trendy overnight bag. These bags are popular with celebrities, including Oprah (who featured them on her “World’s Biggest Baby Shower”), Courtney Cox Arquette, Jodi Foster, Sara Jessica Parker, Denise Richards, Brooke Shields, Uma Thurman, and Kate Winslet. You can buy these great bags for around $150 at fleurville.com.
