Rainbow Steps Mary Janes

Rainbow Steps Mary Janes

I love these cute little Rainbow Steps Mary Janes. Whether I like it or not, my three year old always gravitates toward pink, so we have lots that these would coordinate with. They come with a removable squeaky tube, which is good, because I can’t imagine to listening to shoes squeak with every step. They are made from soft leather and are flexible for the health of developing feet. You can purchase a pair for $30.95 in infant and toddler sizes at comfykid.com.

Morgan & Milo Ginger Flower Mary Janes

I am a huge fan of Morgan & Milo. I have purchased quite a few pairs of these for my older two daughters recently. When I saw these new Ginger Flower Mary Janes, I was immediately in love. They have all the practical yet fun features that make this brand appeal to me, plus the added touch of this great Baby Lulu-esque flower. These will be perfect with so many of the outfits currently in my three year old’s closet. You can purchase a pair for $40 at sweetsoles.com.

Morgan & Milo Infant Avril Mary Janes

Morgan & Milo Infant Avril Mary Janes

I just bought these great Morgan & Milo Infant Avril Mary Janes for my three year old. I love the mix of feminine and sporty–a ditsy floral print is paired with a flexible rubber outsole. I’ve gotten spoiled having my daughter in easy to get on and off Crocs all summer, but I’m hoping that these shoes will be an easy transition because of the Mary Jane style and the Velcro closure. Best of all, I got a great price–$24.99 at SweetSoles.com. Check out their other great clearance prices as well. If you buy 4 or more pairs of shoes, you’ll get an additional $2 off each pair. I’m a little worried that the floral print will make these shoes hard to match with clothes, but we have a lot of pink to work with.

J-41 Footwear Sideline Mary Janes

J-41 Footwear Sideline Mary Janes

I have the adult version of this shoe from J-41, and it is one of my favorites.  I always get a lot of compliments when I wear them.  I had no idea that the company even made children’s shoes until I chanced upon these online. These urban mary janes are made from breathable mesh with a protective rubber toe bumper. I love the tan/coral color combination (which I myself have), but there are several other color choices available as well.  This is a practical shoes because it can be worn with just about anything. They are quite comfortable too. Best of all, they are currently on sale for $24.99, which is 55% off! Coastal Projections Suede Mary Janes

I always love Mary Janes, and here is one of the cuter pairs to catch my eye lately.  Made by Coastal Projections, these shoes are very feminine, and will jazz up any outfit from jeans to dresses.  The shoes are made from super-soft suede and are embellished with beading and roses for an ultra-girly touch. An elastic band helps to keep them on squirmy little feet, and the manufacturer affirms that they were designed with a little one’s comfort in mind. Coastal Projections shoes are a favorite of celebrity parents such as Phoebe Cates and Kevin Kline.

This pair is available in infant sizes 0 and 1.  You can purchase a pair for $44 at bestdressedkids.com.  I just wish they came in larger sizes!

Pom Dapi Butterfly White Mary Janes

This has got to be one of the cutest pairs of toddler shoes on the market–they are absolutely stunning.  Made  from soft white leather, these Pom Dapi Butterfly White Mary Janes feature butterflies in a number of different shades along the sole.  These French-made shoes would look great with just about anything your daughter wears, from jeans and a sweater to a casual dress.  They will also make your little girl feel as special as can be.

Although they wouldn’t survive a day in the tire chips at my toddler’s daycare, they are very tempting.  You can purchase a pair on sale for $92 at westvillagekids.com.

Grape Mary Janes by Morgan & Milo

Grape Mary Janes by Morgan & Milo

I love Mary Janes for my girls because they are so versatile.  They look great with jeans, leggings, or even a casual dress or skirt.  I really like this fun pair from Morgan & Milo.  The grape color is bold and fun.  Since purple is a staple in many popular children’s lines (we have tons of purple Gap and Gymboree clothes for example), you will have no problem matching these shoes to your child’s wardrobe.

The shoes have a soft suede upper and a rubber sole.  For an added touch fo femininity, they feature a chocolate-colored ribbon.  The combination of purple and rich brown is very pleasing.  The shoes are available in toddler sizes from 6.5-11.5.  You can purchase a pair for $38 from littlemonkeytoes.com.

L'Amour Lime Green Mary Janes

I love just about anything that comes in lime green, and these Mary Janes from L’Amour are no exception.  These sweet little shoes have been spotted on Suri Cruise, so your daughter will be in good company when she slips into them.

The shoes are made from extra soft leather, and are decorated with some very cute little flowers along the toe.  They close with a velcro strap which both moms and toddlers will appreciate, and have a flexible sole which is ideal for little feet as they grow.

Mary Janes by Rileyroos

Mary Janes

These Mary Janes are designed to imitate barefoot walking. Made by Rileyroos, these shoes have a flexible rubber-padded sole to protect little feet. The sole curls above the child’s toes to provide leverage as your little one makes the natural gravitation from crawling to walking.

When I’m buying a shoe for a child under two years old, the first thing I have to keep in mind is how safe and practical is it for the child. It doesn’t matter how cute and pretty or how perfectly it matches a certain outfit, if the shoe doesn’t meet the child’s physical needs than I just won’t buy it.

Here’s why these Mary Janes would be a good choice for your infant: they are soft and lightweight — not stiff or having a heavy sole; made from durable leather so you know the shoe can take a lot of bumps and scrapes as your child learns to walk; Velcro closures so you’re not fussing with laces or worrying about untied laces tripping your child; flexible rubber padded soles for comfort and practicality; and you don’t have to choose between practical and looks because these Mary Janes are adorable.

Mary Janes come in  Bubblegum, Cherry, and Licorice colors and in sizes: 6-12mos, 12-18mos. for $28 at Mypumpkindoodle.com.

Tip Toey Joey Chantilly Shoes

Tip Toey Joey Chantilly Shoes

This is the first time I have come across the Tip Toey Joey line of shoes, but I am already impressed.  The Chantilly shoe is a traditional Mary Jane with a sporty edge.  Made from high-quality leather, the shoe is made to be comfortable and breathable for beginning walkers (or any other toddler).  They also have non-slip rubber soles and a wide closure that makes them easy for parents to get on and off.  They would look great with just about anything–a dress, shorts, or jeans.

They are available in sizes 6-12, 12-18, and 18-24 months.  You can buy a pair for $36 at babystyle.com.

Ocean Mist Booties

I loved these the minute I saw them. Great for dressing up or even with a little pair of jeans (and maybe a trendy kimono top) on your little girl, the Ocean Mist Booties are one of many in a line of cute shoes for baby girls. At a price of $9.99 and up, they are affordable Mary Janes in fun and pretty patterns from the featured pair to funky flowers to fruit inspired prints. With ribbon edging and a jazzy sheen to them, these booties will add a touch of pizzazz to a little girl’s wardrobe. Because they’re shoes, you can show them off over and over, matching them to endless outfits. You can’t miss with crazyaboutbabies.com, it seems.
