Upscale on a Budget: Old Navy Fleece-Lined Jeans

Upscale on a Budget: Old Navy Fleece-Lined Jeans

Now is the time to stock up on warm winter clothes for the remainder of this year or for next. There are tons of great deals to be had on clothing that can still be worn for quite a few more months, depending on where you live. I am a huge fan of fleece lined jeans for my little ones in the winter. We have quite a few pairs from both Gap and Old Navy, and they get a lot of use. They match just about anything and look great, but they are a lot warmer and softer than traditional denim. Right now, you can get this especially cute pair for $15 at oldnavy.gap.com. They are available in sizes from 6-12 months up to 5T. You might want to check these out in the store, too, as I often find better prices there.

AE Jeans and Tank

AE Jeans and Tank

Let’s face it. Mamas can’t always be wrestling toddlers and infants into buggies, baby carriers and car seats while wearing ball gowns and designer frocks. They’ve got to have ease of mobility and comfort. They can’t worry about getting a crisp new white blouse smudged by little fingers. However, there’s no reason we can’t have both sensible and fashionable, is there?

I’ve talked to moms who swear by American Eagle Outfitters jeans, so check out the Women’s Boy Fit Jeans for $49.50 (buy one, get one 50% off) and the AE Floral Gathered Tank on sale for $9.95 (their clearance section has some pretty outstanding deals.) Both pieces are perfect for ease of wear and the top is ideal for covering a mommy belly, with its blousson hem, while looking pretty fabulous. Pair it with embellished sandals or wedge heels and you’re instantly a mommy-on-the-go trendsetter.

Upscale on a Budget: Old Navy Belted Jeans

Upscale on a Budget: Old Navy Belted Jeans

I have mixed feelings about many of Old Navy’s kids’ clothes, which often don’t seem to survive repeated wearings/washings. One thing I have always had good luck with, however, is their jeans. These do seem to hold up quite well. We even have some that have survived to be passed down from my rough-and-tumble toddler to my baby. Here is a great pair with a feminine cut and a fun tie-belt. Available in sizes from 6-12 months up to 5T, these are currently on sale for $16.50. You can purchase them in stores or online at OldNavy.Gap.com.

$10 Denim Sale at Crazy8.com

Crazy8.com is currently having a $10 denim sale on children’s jeans. From straight-cut to bootcut, cargo to carpenter, jeans are $10. In addition, during their semi-annual sale, clothing for baby boys, baby girls, boys 4-14 and girls 4-14 is on sale up to 60% off. At these prices, this would be a great time to stock up on jeans for the rest of this year and perhaps even order larger sizes for your child to wear next year.

Appaman Carpenter Railroad Jeans

Carpenter’s pants on boys are so cute, and functional, as boys get bigger and want to bring home everything they’ve found that day in their travels. Already my son fills his pockets with rocks, shells, sticks, and more, so giving him the extra pockets found in carpenter’s pants would allow him to bring home even more treasures from his outdoor adventures. These Carpenter Railroad Jeans by Appaman could be worn by a boy or a girl. They feature a snap/zip front closure, four pockets, waist adjusters, and even a monkey embroidered on the rear of the jeans! These jeans are 100% cotton, which makes for easy machine washing/drying (important when unwanted items get stashed in pockets and leak through!)

The pants are available in sizes from 6 months to 6 years, for $61, at PsychoBabyOnline.com.

Jeans With Secret Fit Belly from Motherhood Maternity

BOOT CUT JEAN WITH THE SECRET FIT BELLY from Motherhood Maternity

I think these boot cut Jeans with the Secret Fit Belly from Motherhood Maternity are great for young (and young-minded) expectant moms. The medium wash color of the jeans and the pock embroidery make these jeans a contemporary addition to the maternity wardrobe. These jeans feature a patent pending “belly fit” that uses seamless technology which is great for that smooth look but even more appreciated for its comfort. When I was in my later months, any clothing that felt binding around my abdomen, even the sewed seams, was very irritating. Another great feature is that these stylish jeans are made from cotton/spandex stretch denim. You can look and feel comfortable and not have to sacrifice style.

Take a look at these jeans at motherhood.com where they are priced for $39.98. They are available in sizes S, M, L, and XL and in a variety of color washes.

Baby Gap Girly Fleece-Lined Overalls

Both of my girls have worn a lot of overalls in their infant days.  In fact, I’m always sad when it is time to potty train and overalls no longer work.  The only problem I have with overalls  is that denim isn’t particularly warm or comfortable.  I therefore love Gap’s fleece lined jeans for my girls, and am very excited to see that the company’s new winter line includes a pair of fleece lined overalls as well.  This way, you can dress your child in style without feeling guilty about it!

These cute little Baby Gap Girly Fleece-Lined Overalls have some truly adorable embroidered detail–from a heart at the breast to colored stitching around the front pockets.  The snap down the legs for easy diaper changes, and are lined with super-soft pink fleece.  These would look great with just about any top.  I also love the effect of adding a cardigan over overalls.

You can purchase a pair of these toasty winter overalls for $34.50 at Gap stores or at Gap.com.  They are available in sizes from 0-3 to 18-24 months.  They will look equally cute on an infant or toddler and would also make a great gift.

Love Is Organic Denim Gumdrop Jeans

Love Is Organic Gumdrop Jeans

Love Is Organic jeans are quickly becoming the hip jeans for celebrity’s little ones.  They have been featured in Cookie Magazine, and have been photographed on Angelina Jolie’s daughter Zahara.   These cute Denim Gumdrop jeans are my favorite in the line.  They feature slightly flared legs, and adjustable waist, and embroidered back pockets.  Any little girl will feel like a movie star in these high fashion jeans.  Best of all, they are made from 100% organic denim, so you will be helping the environment, and protecting your little one from toxins.

They are available in sizes from 2-12, although the larger sizes sell out quickly.  You can purchase a pair for $128 at shopwithlove.net.

Habitual Maternity Jeans

Habitual maternity jeans are a favorite with celebrity moms including Katie Holmes and Angelina Jolie.  These jeans are made to be very flattering, with an under the belly fit and Habitual’s signature pockets.  Unlike many maternity jeans, they feature a traditional zipper closure, rather than an elastic band.

They are available in four sizes to fit women sizes 0-12.  You can purchase a pair for $186 at duematernity.com.

New Additions Maternity Full Panel Denim Capri Pants

I have a pair of these Maternity Full Panel Denim Capri Pants and my favorite feature is that they’re stretchy, which is nice for moving about in. Made by New Additions, they’re equipped with a full-sized panel for comfort and growth. I like that they are just the right length, neither showing too much or covering too much leg and the back pockets are flattering to the rear end.

Of course, the dark wash is a good look for many bodies. I’m all about comfort and a flattering fit. The price is right on this pant as well, coming in at $19.99 at Kmart.com.

True Religion Baby Billy Jeans

Gwen Stefani

Celebrities like Gwen Stefani love True Religion Jeans, so of course they appreciate being about the deck out their little ones in similar style. Numerous celebrity tots like Stefani’s son Kingston have been photographed wearing True Religion.

These Baby Billy jeans are designed for the youngest True Religion fans. They are available in sizes up to 18 months. They are made of cotton with traditional 5-pocket styling and are machine washable.

They have an adjustable waist band which is a godsend for anyone with scrawny children like my own. Your little guy will definitely stand out in these trendy jeans.

You can purchase a pair of True Religion Baby Billy Jeans for $79 at www.shop.nordstrom.com.

Mama J by J Brand Maternity Jeans

These maternity jeans are a celebrity favorite. Halle Berry, Naomi Watts, and Melissa Joan Hart are just a few of the high-profile mommies who have been wearing them lately. Made by the high-end jean company J Brand, these jeans are definitely hip. They are designed to look less like maternity pants and more like traditional (and flattering) jeans. The forgiving design also makes them ideal as transitional pants after baby’s birth. The only downside to these jeans is their price. At $210, they are definitely a splurge, especially, if like me, you are most likely pregnant for the last time. You can buy a pair at jbrandjeans.com.
