Kate Mack is probably best known for bathing suits, but they make some great coats as well. I am smitten with this Ziggy Monster coat by Tuff Cookie. It is made from polar fleece which looks very cozy. The monster on the pocket, however, is what makes the look. Stella McCartney has a stellar line of kids’ clothing at the Gap. I love this chic Bow Belt Coat. Available in sizes from 2-5 years, it is sophisticated and classic. It would look great over holiday dresses, but the rich “oxford plum” color is suitable for wear even outside of the holiday season. My middle daughter has a coat very similar to this one from Guess. I bought it on clearance a few years ago, and for some reason she never wanted to wear it until now (when, of course, it is starting to get too small for her).  She looks absolutely adorable in it, however, and I wish we would have put it to use last year. It can easily be dressed either up or down. It works with a dress, but if you pair it with jeans and a sweater, it is equally believable as casual wear. I love this simple Birdie Hoodie from Jasper Hearts Wren. Corky and Company is famous for its gorgeous coats, and this model will not disappoint. This has to be one of the most striking coats I have seen in a while (and I love to look at coats!). I love the idea of cashmere for my kids, although I’m afraid I’m not brave enough to purchase it, especially since on one notable occasion a sweater of my own was decimated in record time by two chocolate-covered hands. So, when I see cute sweaters like this Lucky Jade Trees Cotton Cashmere Hoodie Sweater, I have to wonder a bit about what children actually wear them. I love the tree print. It is sweet and earthy, and I’m sure it is as comfy as can be.  Although machine washable, I just can’t imagine keeping this clean. It is available in sizes from 3-6 months up to 4T. I think it would be suitable for either a boy or a girl. I just wouldn’t give it as a gift as, beautiful though it is, it might become a stress to the parent who has to maintain it.

This Munster Kids Mud Looney Hoodie is a great option for comic book and super-hero fans. Made from 100% cotton, it features a fun print reading “SMASH” and “KAPOW” on a black background. I stumbled upon rockyourbaby.com and loved the “Little Hell Raiser” hoodie. Though it’s maybe not the wisest decision to put a swear word (though a light one) on your baby’s sweatshirt, it really is super cute and it suits my youngest son to a t. About $29 US ($44 Australian), it’s sold in sizes 3-6 M, 6-12 M, 1, 2, 3, and 4. Ideal with jeans but great for throwing over just about anything, I think any little guy (or gal) would rock this hoodie and get a few giggles and stares from onlookers.
