Kate Quinn Organics Hooded Towel

Kate Quinn Organics Hooded Towel

Here is a great option for bathtime that helps you keep things organic and simple. Made by Kate Quinn Organics, this towel luxuriously soft, so it pampers your little one–it’s perfect for warming up after a winter bath. Although $33 may seem like a lot for a towel, I know from my own experience that you don’t need many of these towels. I would far rather have one towel like this than a crowded linen closet full of less eco-friendly towels.  You can purchase one of these at dandelionbaby.com.

3 Sprouts Organic Hooded Tiger Towel

3 Sprouts Organic Hooded Tiger Towel

This cute orange tiger hooded towel from 3 Sprouts is sure to be a  hit at any baby shower. The exquisite attention to detail is almost unparalleled among such products. Although a tad extravagant, this 100% cotton towel is generously-sized to grow with the child. You can purchase one of these fun modern towels for $36 at modernmoppet.com.

DwellStudio Baby Hooded Towel

While I think it was the fun chairs in the promotional photo that first caught my eye, these hooded towels from DwellStudio Baby are a lot of fun. I’m not a big fan of hooded towels for the early infant days–I think a regular bath towel is just as easy to use, more absorbent, and generally less expensive. I do, however, love hooded towels for my toddler (and, I’ll admit, my 10 year old).  These hip towels are big enough for an older child to use, and the 210 thread count Egyptian cotton, makes them extra cozy. Each towel retails for $44, but currently some discontinued prints are available for $35 at designpublic.com.

SwaddleDesigns Certified Organic Hooded Towels

I’m still not convinced that having a hooded towel is a necessity for baby’s bath time, but if you’re going to buy one, it’s probably a good idea to make sure it’s certified organic. These hooded towels by SwaddleDesigns are. Made from certified organic cotton Turkish Terry Velour, the towels measure 30″ x 30″, a generous size sure to keep baby warm and dry after his bath. The soft organic cotton is a great idea, as babies tend to have sensitive skin. The towels are made in the USA, and sell for $36 at eswaddle.com. They would also make a nice shower or new baby gift.

Tourance Hooded Towels

Recently we had a discussion on the Upscale Baby Discussion Forum about hooded towels, and whether they’re really necessary for baby. We came to a general consensus that they aren’t, that they’re just an added “luxury” that most people only have or use because they were received as a gift. Then I came upon these hooded towels by Tourance and couldn’t believe the price - $44. Yes, that’s $44 for a cotton, hooded towel. They come in a variety of fashionable prints, and look very large and cozy for baby, but come on! Forty-four dollars for a towel? I guess this would make a nice baby gift for someone special. If you’re interested in viewing these towels and finding out where they are available to purchase, visit Tourance.com for a list of stores.

Velour Terrycloth Hooded Towel and Bath Mitt Set

Velour Terrycloth Hooded Towel and Bath Mitt Set

We never end up using hooded towels, and yet, for some reason I am always drawn to them. I literally just packed a bunch in a bag to given to charity, and then here I am online, my eyes were drawn to this velour terrycloth set because it just looks so cute. Also, if anyone else was a child in the early eighties and remembers those terrycloth onepiece short suits with the white trim–well, let’s just say the look of this towel brought back some fond memories.

I do know many moms who swear by hooded towels, though, so if you are one of them, this might be a good choice. It definitely looks like it would be incredibly soft and welcoming after a bath. It comes with a matching bath mitt. You can purchase the set for $37 at elegantchild.com. It is available in several colors and can be personalized. This set definitely has the potential to make a great gift.

Bask Home Hooded Towel & Washcloth Set

Bask Home Hooded Towel Set

There are a lot of options to choose from when it comes to selecting hooded towels for your newborn’s first baths.  I quite like this deluxe towel and washcloth set from Bask Home.  The geometric pattern is very attractive and modern, and the set is very practical.  Both pieces are double-sided–one side is made of plush velour, the other of absorbent terrycloth.  Everything is 100% cotton for comfort and absorbency.  Both pieces also feature loops for easy hanging.

Although my eyes were drawn to this Blue Clover print, a number of other prints are available.  You can purchase a set for $44 at ModernMunchkin.com. The attractive packaging makes it an ideal baby gift.

Baby Star Daisy Chain Hooded Towel

Hooded towels are a fun and attractive way to comfort your little one and keep him or her toasty at bath time.  Baby Star makes some incredibly cute and luxurious ones.  I really like this Daisy Chain print for a girl, but there are lots of other fun prints for both boys and girls as well.

Each towel measures a generous 30 x 30, so your child will be able to use it beyond his or her infant days.  These towels are made from decorative cotton prints and thick, absorbent terry cloth.  The result is a product that is visually-appealing and super-effective at drying off your little one quickly and comfortably.

You can purchase the Baby Star Daisy Chain Hooded Towel and see the many other designs at 2sweetsisters.com.  The retail price is $40.  One of these would also make a great shower gift.

Mullins Square Tubby Hooded Baby Towels

I’ve had other hooded towels before for my older daughter, but none of them compare to the Mullins Square Tubby Hooded Baby Towel I received as a gift for my 5-month old. This thick, plush towel is so soft and fun, I want one big enough for me! It’s made of 100% cotton and stays ultra-soft and absorbent without needing irritating fabric softeners. The fun part is the great designs! Each towel comes with one of many different animal faces on the hood. We have the pony design but they also come in a frog, lamb, ducky and more. They work great for beach towels too! Measuring 27” x 50”, they’re big enough for my 5-year old which means they’ll get years of use as your baby grows. You can get one for $39.95 at spiffybaby.com.
