We have a nature themed playroom, with prints of trees, a lovely bluish-green paint color, and green toile curtains in it, so I thought the BlueBird Cage Mini Décor Pillow would fit in perfectly. Baby Mandala Art by Rosemary Babikan

treasurechest800

Artist Rosemary Babikan creates personalized Baby Mandalas. Mandala is a word from an old classical Indian language that means “circle”. This circular art always draws the viewer’s eye to the center, reflecting order, beauty, and calm, and away from the area outside of the circle (representing frustration and disorder). Babikan has some mandalas already designed on her site, like this Treasure Chest design, or you can choose to have one personalized for your baby, incorporating the baby’s name and your choice of font. One of these would make a great gift for new parents. You can view these beautiful Baby Mandalas at BabyMandala.com, where they range in price from an average of $19.99 for an 8″ x 8″ size to $59.99 for a 24″ x 24″ size.

Tree of Happiness by TR Mack Studio

Tree of Happiness

Because we are in the midst of renovating the playroom, I bought a gorgeous print from Etsy shop TR Mack Studio. My print of choice was “The Tree of Happiness” and it is just as gorgeous in person as it was on the site. Packaged in plastic and again in a heavy envelope and shipped just as I requested, the vibrant print cost $13.50 and was worth every penny. After I frame it, it will add a lovely touch to our playroom. I’m sure it will be a conversation piece for visitors. There are many prints in all kinds of shapes and all as beautifully rendered as this one. Also, original paintings are available.

Brown Fox Wall Decal by greywolfgraphics

Lately, I’ve been enjoying decorating with wall decals. Not only do my sons love them, but I think they’re lovely and, most importantly, easily interchangeable (not permanent!) They’re unexpected when placed as the sly fox depicted is—in a low-to-the-ground spot, peeking at you mischievously. They’re fun for kids to find and look at (just ask my one-year-old about the animal decals in his room—he’s delighted by them) and this one is sophisticated enough to go in a room that has been decorated with fun in mind but also careful detail. Only $7 from Etsy seller greywolfgraphics, I think it’s just the right whimsical touch for our playroom.

Treasure Map Mural by Oopsy Daisy

It’s a shame that Christmas is over, as now I have to look for an excuse to buy this awesome Treasure Map Mural by Oopsy Daisy for my son’s room! He’s really into pirates right now, and would love to gaze at this mural on his wall. It is made in the USA from durable canvas, and comes with metal grommets to make hanging easy. The size of the mural, 43″ x 36″, is perfect to decorate the wall of a child’s room.

We are planning to repaint my son’s room soon, so, perhaps I could use that as an excuse to purchase this mural? If you don’t need to find an excuse to do so, you can buy it at MagicCabin.com, where it’s currently on sale for $65.99 (half the original price of $139.95).
