Heir Goes Green for Baby Long Sleeve Set

Heir Goes Green for Baby Set

If you want to purchase an outfit for your baby that is both cute and socially responsible, check out this sweet little outfit from Heir.  I love the look of the Heir Goes Green for Baby Long Sleeve Set.  I’m not sure how easy it would be to keep this pristine white clean on an older baby, but it sure is pretty.  The top has the female symbol appliqued in a pretty floral fabric that really pops next to the clean white background. The same floral print is ruffled at the cuffs of the shirt and the hemline of the pants.

The outfit is made from 100% soft cotton.  A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this outfit go to help empower impoverished communities in Africa.  The set is available in sizes from 3-6 months to 4T.  You can purchase one for $50 at myprincesscloset.com. It would also make a great gift.

Saranoni Brown/Green Baby Blanket

Saranoni Green Baby Blanket

I just stumbled on this Saranoni Brown/Green Baby Blanket while searching for something else, and I think it looks incredible.  It is absolutely luxurious, with a soft plush that anyone would enjoy.  Each blanket measures 30″ x 40″, which makes it large enough for a toddler to use.  It would be perfect for use at home, or as a special nap blanket to take to daycare. (Don’t worry, it is machine washable).  One of these blankets would also make a thoughtful gift.

Best of all, the price is much less than you will pay for some similar blankets.  You can purchase one for $45 at ExpectedMaternity.com.

Kate Mack Lime Ruffle Seaside Halter Top and Bloomer Set

This bright lime green Ruffle Seaside Halter Top and Bloomer Set by Kate Mack caught my eye immediately. It has snap adjustable back ties for keeping your baby daughter comfortable. I think it’s an adorable outfit, decorated with ruffles and beads.

It’s made from 100% Lightweight Cotton but the manufacturer recommends hand washing. It’s so delicate looking, I guess hand washing will help keep the ruffles “ruffly” and prevent shrinking.  It’s on sale now for $33.00 at MyChildClothing.com. It comes in Lime Green in sizes 3 months and 6 months.

Recycled Plastic Sand Play Set by Green Toys

Recycled Plastic Sand Play Set

If you’ve visited the beaches this summer, you know that you are more than likely to see signs of human impact on the environment: disposable diapers, plastics, aluminum cans, etc. scattered along the beach or washed up in the waves. You have to drive well out of your way to find a “clean” beach for your children to play on. It can be discouraging but one thing we can do, and teach our children to do, is to use products that are trying to not be part of the problem.

This Recycled Plastic Sand Play set by Green Toys is made from 100% recycled plastics, and is phthalate free and BPA free. The bucket and shovels are not fancy or brightly colored, they don’t sparkle or make musical sounds - but on a sandy beach, all your child needs and wants are the tools to let his imagination build.

The Sand Play Set includes:
1 Bucket
1 Sand castle mold
1 Shovel
1 Rake

You can buy a set for $16.98 at KangarooBoo.com

Infant’s Weebit by Simple Shoes

Weebit Shoes

Organic dressing is really making quite a hit on the internet, with baby styles cropping up in pants, onesies, and shoes. Though the Weebit simple shoes are available in other colors (blue, green, and red), I like the natural look of the tan.

It’s a neutral hue, made to match anything you might dress your baby in, and it (and the other colors) works for either boy or girl. Made of eco-friendly materials, like hemp, with a felt piggy on top, they’re available in sizes 0-6 M up to 12-18 M.

They definitely advertise a green lifestyle. Imagine popping baby into a Mei Tei or other style carrier and showing off her “green piggies” to the world. At $24.00, they’re no more to buy than a lot of soft-sole baby shoes. I found this particular style at simpleshoes.com.

Baby Bliss Gripe Water

My son was uncomfortable and gassy and I wasn’t sure what to do. I was very wary of using medication on such a small person until I found Baby Bliss Gripe Water. Within minutes he calmed down and started feeling better. I really like Gripe Water not only because it helps my baby feel better but it is also all natural. We went “green” in our house a while ago and it always makes me feel better to use all natural, organic products. Baby Bliss Gripe Water is made with organic ginger and fennel. It is pediatrician recommended as an alternative to traditional gas drops. The ginger and fennel help ease Baby’s gas and stomach pains. I know it works for my son. You can purchase Gripe Water at many pharamices or online at babybliss.com. Gripe Water retails for $11.99 for a 4 oz. bottle.
