Rag & Bone or Etsy Penelope Dress?

Rag & Bone or Etsy Penelope Dress?

I saw Rag & Bone mentioned in Vogue magazine, so I thought I’d check it out. While some of the women’s styles are breathtaking, I’m not enamored with the kid stuff. Some of the little girl dresses are very sweet and I especially like the Penelope Dress featured on rag-bone.com. It’s feminine with almost a 50s style flair and a “little lady” feel. It’d be lovely for a garden party or church. However, given the prices for women’s Rag & Bone wear, I decided to forgo even finding out the prices and keep looking.
Where did I find the sweetest Penelope dress in a lovely pattern? You guessed it. Etsy.com, of course. Only $26.50, offered in 0-6 right up to size 5T, it’s made from natural linen and would be perfect with black patent Mary Janes. By etsy.com seller seworiginal, it’s a black and white dream.

My Top 5 List of Spring Dresses: Gathered Aqua Floral Fun Sundress by RuffleButts

My Top 5 List of Spring Dresses: Gathered “Aqua Floral Fun” Sundress by RuffleButts

This adorable little sundress from RuffleButts reminds me of the sundresses I used to wear when I was a little girl. The colorful flower “Aqua Floral Fun” pattern will surely match the season. The dress is mid-length and is lined with a solid pink cotton. And if you want to add a little extra something you can pair it with either the matching Aqua Floral Fun Rufflebutts or a coordinating pink one. And because it’s machine washable, she can play all she wants without you having to then deal with the hassle of dry cleaning.

The dress is available in sizes 3-6 months all the way to Toddler 2T, so you should have no problem finding one that fits your daughter perfectly. You can find this—as well as other fun, patterned sundresses—at rufflebutts.com for $37.

My Top 5 List of Spring Dresses: Tea Collection’s “Liberdade Plaid Dress”

Here’s another great number from Tea Collection—this one is from their “east meets brazil” collection. At first I didn’t know how I felt about this Liberdade Plaid dress as part of a spring line since it’s not as colorful as you imagine outfits for this season to be, but when I took a closer look at the details of the dress, I began to like it more and more. This is the kind of dress that would be perfect for that mature toddler who doesn’t want to be wearing what everyone else is, for that toddler who wants to look worldly and sophisticated instead of frilly and delicate.

I don’t know what my favorite part of this dress is—the three buttons down the front, the unique sleeves, or its A-line shape. I think it’s the combination of all of these things in fact that make this dress stand out. I also like the fact that the dress can be paired up with a long sleeve shirt (as pictured) as well as pants, making it versatile for different temperatures and even seasons. It’s available in sizes 6 months up to 8 years and you even get a bloomer with sizes 6-24 months. You can find this unique, very modern piece for $55 at TeaCollection.com.
