My daughter is probably a month shy of walking, so I’m already thinking about what kind of shoes to buy her. I want something comfortable for her and easy to put on and take off for me. These dragonfly shoes caught my eye this morning. Made of soft and durable canvas, these shoes are 100% animal free and dyed using only low-impact inks. I love that they have a soft interior for her feet and close with Velcro, so they’ll be less likely to fall off. And the shoes are even machine washable and dryable, which will make it even easier to keep them clean.
I’m torn though between this hip dragonfly design and another shoe offered on the website that boasts a cute hippo motif. Check out these and other adorable styles on NewBornMom.com. Originally $25.95, they are currently on sale for $22.

Barefoot makes a number of unique and eye-catching toys for small children. I fell in love with the Dragonfly. Any imaginative boy or girl will have a wonderful time with this guy. His bright colors, bulging eyes, and removable wings give him a goofy but very lovable appearance. Best of all, this toy is eco-friendly–made from naturally-dyed fabric and filled with natural Kapok. He is also made using fair trade practices. He will make a great friend for your child, or a wonderful decoration for a bedroom shelf.
You can purchase one of these fun toys for $24 at WildDill.com. He would also make a unique gift.

Newly-mobile tots are sure to enjoy a good pull toy, and what better than a gorgeous wooden dragonfly by artist Brian Driscoll? This is truly one of the most unique and attractive pull toys that I have seen lately. It would make an ideal first birthday or holiday gift for the toddler on your list.
Made in the USA using only high-quality woods such as Cherry, Maple, and Black Walnut, the toy is silk-screened by hand with child-safe paint that is free from lead. The end result is very attractive. Your child will love to see this toy “flutter” behind her as she pulls it along.
You can purchase one of these great toys for $34 at CraftsburyKids.com.

I was browsing online and my eye was drawn to this lounge outfit from Kate Quinn Organics. I love the simple, sophisticated lines of this outfit which reminds me of a number of Asian designs I have seen recently. The dress is a deep blue and the pants are a rich, earthy brown (which will hide stains quite well, I think). The combination of the two is a little unexpected, and completely stunning.
This is the kind of dress that you don’t worry about sending your little girl out to play in. She won’t be tripping over it, and it is machine washable. Both pieces are made from 100% certified organic cotton. You can purchase the set for $39.95 at bunnyburybaby.com.

I’ve been a fan of anything frog or dragonfly for some time now and the Boppy Tummy Play Pad-Frog is no exception to my wish list. Vividly colored but not overwhelming for baby, it promotes tummy time, an important early stage for baby, and given that some babies aren’t fond of tummy time, the toys attached to the Boppy are a wonderful addition. My son wasn’t opposed to resting on the Boppy pillow but hated lying face flat down on a blanket or flat play pad. It looks fairly easy to take along for visits at grandma’s and is available in Flower for a more girlish look. For $24.99, I’m considering this as a purchase for my own little one to be. Found at www.babyuniverse.com, I’m deeming the Boppy Tummy Play Pad-Frog a good buy for a good price.
