Studio B offers a wide range of original artwork to decorate your child’s nursery, bedroom, or playroom. The company has created original pieces for the children of celebrities such as Marcia Cross, Desiree Gruber & Kyle MacLachlan, Sally Lee, and Nicole Richie. A number of options are available, from paintings to growth charts. I quite like this “Travel by Train” original painting which would make a wonderful focal point for a child’s room. This particular piece measures 16″ x 20″ and is acrylic on stretched canvas. You can personalize the painting by adding a slogan, your child’s name, and/or the name of the city in which you live. This piece retails for $225.
If the products displayed on the Web site are not quite what you are looking for, the artists at Studio B will work with you to create exactly the piece you have in mind. You can check out all of the options at StudioBCreations.com. One of these creations would also make a very generous gift to commemorate a birthday or new baby.

Although I don’t have a daughter, I love this storybook rug and could easily picture it in a little girl’s room. Designed by Sherri Blum, the Once Upon a Time Storybook Rug measures 2.5 feet x 4.5 feet and is the perfect size to place on the floor in your daughter’s room. She can sit on it while you read her favorite princess and fairy stories to her. The rug is 100% hand-hooked wool, and also coordinates with other Sherri Blum custom wall art designs, to create a theme in the bedroom, nursery, or even a playroom.
I would have loved to sit on this rug and read, write, or just dream as a little girl. You can view this gorgeous rug at RosenberryRooms.com, where it’s currently on sale for $140 (with free shipping).

I haven’t been fond of most of the bed toppers I’ve seen in catalogs and online, because they totally enclose a child’s bed. This just seems unsafe to me. But this Thomas the Train Bed Topper, made by Playhut, is different. It provides a safe, secluded area for your child to play, read, or just be alone while he’s in bed. He can get away from his parents for a while, yet his parents can still check on him to make sure he’s safe.
This bed topper fits over any standard twin size bed. It features tie-off windows for hideaway play, a tunnel port to crawl through, and side flaps to allow access underneath the bed. It is supposed to be easy to set up, with its twist and fold method, and to store.
This would add lots of fun to a Thomas motif in a child’s room. You can purchase this bed topper on sale for $47.99 (regularly $59.99) at TysToyBox.com.

The biggest problem my daughter has with keeping her room tidy is clothes. Clothes, clothes, everywhere. On the closet floor, on the bed, on the side of the bed, in the corners, and half in, half out of her hamper. Clothes are everywhere except hanging in the closet or folded in her drawers. She has a “clean up your room” day once a week, but by that time, a small mountain of clothes have accumulated. I don’t have the time (or inclination) to check her room everyday.
The Clothes Tree by New Arrivals may be part of the answer. I, myself, have a habit of throwing my coat or sweater over the first piece of furniture I’m near. With a Clothes Tree there’s more of a chance that clothes will be hung up instead of thrown down. I’m going to purchase a Clothes Tree for my daughter’s room and see if it makes a difference.
The Clothes Tree comes in Pink, Soft Chocolate, Antique White, Blue, and Green and measures 12” x 12” x 50 3/8”. If you have a similar problem and want to give it a try, it’s $90 at maddiescloset.com.
