Let the Wild Rumpus Start Where the Wild Things Are: Toys by Crocodile Creek

Let the Wild Rumpus Start Where the Wild Things Are: Toys by Crocodile Creek

Where the Wild Things Are is one of my three year old’s favorite books at the moment. We read it most nights at home, and I’ve seen her cuddled up with it at daycare as well. I just stumbled upon this fun set of stuffed characters from the book, and I know she would love it. Made by Crocodile Creek, it includes four 14 inch stuffed characters: Max, and three “wild things.”

I’m sure we’ll be seeing more and more mainstream marketing of these characters once the movie is released, but I much prefer these true-to-the-book pieces. The set is a bit pricey, though. Expect to pay $94.95 at glammatoys.com. The characters can also be purchased individually.

Finger Puppet Sets by Manhattan Toy

Finger Puppet Sets by Manhattan Toy

These Finger Puppet Sets, made by Manhattan Toy, are available in characters from your child’s favorite stories, including The Three Little Pigs, A Day to Remember, Cinderella (pictured), Little Red Riding Hood, A Day at the Castle, and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Be sure to have your child’s favorite story book ready and gather the matching puppets. Your child will follow along with the story as you read, placing the appropriate puppet character on yours or her own fingers. While you and your child are having fun with stories and puppets, she is also learning very important reading skills, such as sequencing, memorization, and language. Finding ways to make learning fun will helpĀ  your child as she develops her cognitive skills.

Each set comes conveniently packaged for easy gift giving. Visit babyearth.com to view this item, priced at $19.95 per set.
