Embroidered Toddler Changing Pad

Embroidered Toddler Changing Pad

I’ve been carrying a diaper bag for almost four years straight, and I’ve just come to terms with it.  Some people, however, would rather transition away from bulky bags as their children grow. That’s exactly what this changing pad is designed to accommodate. This particular model is made with the needs of a larger, toddler-sized child in mind. It holds diapers and wipes and folds up compactly. It is made in the USA and comes in chocolate with either pink or blue embroidery. You can purchase one of these sets for $50 at dandelionbaby.com.

Atomic Roll Up Changing Pad by babycheeks

atomic-roll-up-changing-pad

Etsy seller babycheeks sells this handy, stylish Atomic Roll Up Changing Pad. The pad is large enough when open (at 14″ x 24″) to change a toddler, but compact enough when rolled up (7″ x 4″ x 2″) to fit in a purse or diaper bag. Made of cotton and terry cloth, it’s machine washable and secures with velcro for easy traveling. You can view this beautiful changing pad at etsy.com: babycheeks where it sells for $20. It would make a great gift.

Lands’ End Diaper Bag Tote on Sale

I was very excited to see this great Diaper Bag Tote by Lands’ End on sale for $14.99!  I’ve been looking for a diaper bag to carry with our first son, who is due in just a few weeks.  Bags that look like, well, diaper bags, haven’t really appealed to me.  I do love the classic canvas totes by Lands’ End, however.

This diaper bag is just a souped-up version of the original Lands’ End tote bag.  It features the same sturdy 100% cotton canvas and secure zip-top, but with extra features such as 6 inside mesh pockets for organizing your gear and a changing pad.  It measures 17 1/2″Wx13 1/2″HX6″D and is available with soft mint, light sky blue, or pastel pink trim.  Best of all, it doesn’t look like a diaper bag, so it will pull double duty as a convenient tote.

The Lands’ End Diaper Bag Tote is regularly $29.50 but is currently on sale for $14.99.  Mongramming is available for $5.00 extra.  You can purchase one at landsend.com.

Cushy Tushy Changing Pad by Built NY

Cushy Tushy Changing Pad

As a parent of twins, I couldn’t imagine not having my Skip Hop Duo Double Deluxe diaper bag. The reality is all my stuff would never fit in a small diaper bag; however, there are times when I’m just running out with my twins for an hour or so and don’t need all the changes of clothes and bottles and such. During such short outings, I usually just throw a couple diapers in a Ziploc or if I’m feeling bold, go without anything and hope there won’t be any dirty diaper surprise visits. But when I saw this Cushy Tushy changing pad made by Built NY, I thought this would be perfect for those times you don’t want to bring your whole diaper bag but want to be on the safe side. The super soft pad folds up small enough that you can throw it in the stroller basket or even in your own bag. And there’s even an interior pocket to carry a few diapers and wipes.

Machine washable and stain resistant, it comes in your choice of Red with Aqua interior or Black with Blue interior. You can buy one of these on landofnod.com for $22; it even ships for free.

Naturepedic Organic Changing Pad Set

Organic Changing Pad Set

If organic is worth doing once, it’s worth doing all the way. The Naturepedic Organic Changing Pad Set includes a Changing Pad, Bassinet Pad, Bassinet Pad (Oval), and Portacrib Pad.

There are many advantages to using these organic pads. The organic cotton cover has a clear 100% polyethlene food-grade waterproof coating. It’s non-allergernic and easy to clean. Keep a set at home or give a set as a baby shower gift.

Tushygear on the Road

Tushygear makes all kinds of blankets, burp cloths, and baby changing essentials. These products were inspired by the demands of motherhood and designed by a mother of two. Their products come in a number of fun prints. I am particularly drawn to the Tushygear on the Road kit and to the Melrose fabric pattern shown here.

The set is a changing pad and storage container all in one. It holds diapers, wipes, and folds out to become a comfortable (and hygienic) changing pad. You can tuck this little tote into your diaper bag or carry it alone as a clutch. With so many cute patterns to choose from, you will feel stylish however you carry it.

It opens to 28” x 12”, but folds to a compact 12” x 8”. You can purchase one for $38 at tushygear.com.

Swirly Change Pad Cover

Swirly Change Pad Cover

Luxurious change time anyone? After finding the Swirly Change Pad Cover, I love the idea of lying my little ones down on a cloud to be changed. It certainly might help with the squirmy, I-hate-to-be-changed phase, considering it wouldn’t seem as cold and stark as the average change pad.

In a room filled with blues and greens, much like my own nursery accessories and bedding, it would be the perfect accent to pull things together. Made to fit on most change pads, it comes in several pretty colors and one pleasing texture (there are other texture choices as well, with this being my favorite.)

At $34.95, it’s a splurge baby’s bum will be thankful for. Found at yummystyle.com.

Ah Goo Baby Plush Pad

I don’t know about you, but I don’t find most of the travel changing mats that are available on the market to be very soft or appealing. Even the changing pads that have come with my designer diaper bags leave something to be desired. The Ah Goo Baby Plush pad is completely different. This product bills itself as “the highest luxury in portable diaper changing stations,” and with good reason. It features memory foam for support and comfort and is accented with truly gorgeous fabric—there are several prints to choose from. When not in use, it rolls into a 10 x 3 inch cylinder which easily fits in a stroller or diaper bag. Best of all, it is machine washable. You just need to remove the memory foam insert first. You can buy one for $47 at annabean.com.
