As I was browsing the Internet, this rocker caught my eye. I like the shape and color, which would be attractive to children and looks to be ergonomically correct for their posture and comfort. As I read further, I saw that the Hiya Rocker is a functional piece of furniture as well. It has a book bin in the back to store books, toys, coloring books, crayons, art gear, remote controls for games, anything you can think of that your child might need while sitting in the Hiya Rocker. It also has an extra-wide seat in case two children want to sit together to read or color. This would look great in a child’s bedroom or even in a family room.

I’m not too sure about this piece of furniture. The Olga Rocker, designed by Sirch of Germany, is a very unique, unusual, modern slant on a child’s rocker. It is made of a continuous piece of bent birch wood and has a seat made of red woven fabric. It is supposed to be more comfortable than other rockers because of the open space in front. The rocker weighs 10 lbs.

I’d have to try this one out, or have my child test it, before buying it. It is a stunning piece of sculpture and one that would definitely be a conversation starter when guests come to visit. You can view it yourself at ModernTots.com, where it sells for $300.

I like that this picture of the Elise Chaise Lounge includes children because, as a mom, if I had a chaise lounge in my bedroom, I know that my children would lounging on it too. After years of being a mom I think this Elise Chaise Lounge by Pottery Barn Kids would be a welcoming piece to entice my children to join me before bedtime for their favorite story or just to talk about our days. I really like the idea of a Time Out Rocker but I’ve yet to put it to the test. Does it make a difference having a designated seat to go with the designated time-out spot? I think it might, in a positive way. It would be a constant reminder to your child that there are consequences, and that’s a very valuable lesson to learn for any of us. The natural rocking motion may also help to soothe nerves. You might like to place a basket or small shelf near the chair with books that teach lessons or books of children’s poetry, or even a journal. Encourage your child to express himself in all situations.
