I love the idea of cashmere for my kids, although I’m afraid I’m not brave enough to purchase it, especially since on one notable occasion a sweater of my own was decimated in record time by two chocolate-covered hands. So, when I see cute sweaters like this Lucky Jade Trees Cotton Cashmere Hoodie Sweater, I have to wonder a bit about what children actually wear them. I love the tree print. It is sweet and earthy, and I’m sure it is as comfy as can be. Although machine washable, I just can’t imagine keeping this clean. If you have cleaner kids than I, or simply more talent/patience with laundry, you can purchase one on sale for $60 (down from $84) at designpublic.com. It is available in sizes from 3-6 months up to 4T. I think it would be suitable for either a boy or a girl. I just wouldn’t give it as a gift as, beautiful though it is, it might become a stress to the parent who has to maintain it.

If you are looking to add a little luxury to your daughter’s wardrobe, check out this great Fox Grove dress from Eye Spy. Made from 100% cashmere for the ultimate in softness and comfort, this dress features a stunning combination of lilac, green, and orange. The simple cut allows you to dress the look up or down, so it will be a very versatile piece in your child’s collection. I think it would look great dressed down under a jean jacket, or dressed up with tights and black patent leather shoes. However you style it, though, it is sure to be comfortable.
You can purchase one of these for your little girl at ArteBebe.com. They are currently on sale for $126 (infant sizes) or $147 (toddler sizes).

If money is no object when it comes to keeping your little warm and fashionably-dressed this winter, check out these cashmere mittens from Hermes. Available in either white or blue, these mittens are the ultimate in luxury. They are designed to fit a toddler, and would match most winter coats. Hopefully, the attached string will prevent them from getting lost. I get frustrated enough when my kids lose mittens that I bought on clearance at the Gap.
I’m sure these Hermes mittens are incredibly soft, but I’m not sure how well they would hold up to snow play. If you want to find out, you can purchase a pair for $105 at Hermes.

One of my favorite products for my younger daughter was a gorgeous cable knit bunting from Ralph Lauren. Ours is very similar to this one, although we didn’t opt for the added luxury of cashmere. The great thing about a bunting is that it is cozy and snug in cool weather. The downsides are that they cannot be used in a car seat or most strollers/baby carriers. I enjoyed using our with either the bassinet attachment for our stroller or a sling.
The Ralph Lauren Cashmere Cable Bunting is absolutely top of the line. Made from fine cashmere, it is as soft as it is adorable. The look is simple and classic, but your baby will be absolutely pampered. The hood adds and extra layer of comfort and warmth for little heads. The bunting is available in blue, pink, or cream. You can purchase one on sale for $187.50 at RalphLauren.com.

It goes without saying that you want anything that touches your baby to be as soft as possible. How about a Cashmere Monkey? Just looking at this cuddle toy you know that those long arms and legs are going to get mooshed. I know it’s a monkey, but it’s an elegant monkey! Can’t wait to squish it - I mean, for my baby to have fun with it!
The Anne-Claire Petit Luxe Cashmere Monkey is available in two colors: pink or chocolate. You can buy one for $80.00 at PetitLuxe.com.

I am particularly enamored with this Dandelion blanket. Available in either pink or ivory, this sweater knit blanket is made of a cashmere cotton blend that offers the best of both worlds: incredible softness and machine washability. The dandelion design is simple yet modern. Your little one will feel incredibly snug in this blanket, and you will feel incredibly hip carrying it.
The blanket measures 27″ L x 32″ W. You can purchase one for $68 at designpublic.com.

These baby blankets from Amber Hagen take luxury to a whole new level. They are made out of 2 ply cashmere for absolute softness. I’ve noticed that many of the cashmere blankets on the market are rather dull. They rely on cashmere as their selling point. Amber Hagen’s blankets are as trendy and cheerful as they are soft. A number of different designs are available, ranging from sweet (hearts, dragonflies), to downright edgy (motorcycles, winged hearts). It looks like many of these designs sell out, so if one catches your eye, you should snap it up when you have the chance. Matching baby sweaters and hoodies are also available. You can purchase one of these cozy blankets for $161 at psychobabyonline.com.
