I’ve had my eye on a Hatley raincoat for my three year old, but I just haven’t been able to justify the nearly $50 price tag. So, I was excited to find that Overstock.com has a number of these coats for boys and girls. This Fun Dog version is probably my favorite of the ones on sale. It is practical, but also cute as can be. At $27.99, it is a pretty good deal, especially if you live in a rainy climate. Check it out at Overstock.com. Some of the site’s other Hatley coats are even cheaper. Unfortunately, as of this writing, the raincoat is out of stock at Overstock.com. However, I did find it at Amazon.com for an even cheaper price - $25. Get one while they last!

This Boys Striped Pullover by Catimini Labo looks like a perfect shirt for the first day of school. The colors look great together (blue, green, and yellow) and the knit weight would be just right for the weather in our part of the country around the time school starts. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a sucker for Ralph Lauren clothing on little boys. There’s just something so classic and classy about their style. I was really pleased to find this Blake Boys Poplin Plaid Shirt by Ralph Lauren on sale at Nordstrom.com today. Sure, it’s out of season now, but buy it a size larger than your son wears currently, and it should fit him come fall/winter. My son has never responded well to time outs as a disciplinary tool. He seems to behave much better if there’s a threat of having something he loves taken away (such as a toy, watching a favorite TV show, or listening to his favorite music). My sister-in-law, however, has great success in using time outs on her 3 year old son. She tells him he must sit in a certain chair and not talk to anyone or do anything for the amount of time he’s in time out (usually 3 minutes, one for every year of age). I think I might have to tell her about this sale at ToysRUs.com on the Levels of Discovery Boys Time Out Rocker. It even comes with a timer you can set for a maximum of 15 minutes. What little boy doesn’t look adorable in a stylish embroidered shirt? While I am a big fan of onesies and pants on a day to day basis—anything that makes changing easier is the way to go, in my opinion—I also like having a few nice items for those special events. I would never put my son in this embroidered shirt right before feeding him blueberries per se, but I think this top would work perfectly for a special event that doesn’t involve him creating a mess from his high chair. My son is going through a period where he loves skulls, skeletons, and anthing pirate-related, so I know he would love this shirt.
