The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats is one of my all time favorite picture books.  I loved it as a child, and I have enjoyed sharing it with my own girls.  I was so excited recently when someone gifted my toddler with a board book version of this great winter story.  With little ones in the house, durable books are a must.

This has been one of my toddler’s favorite board books for over a year now.  Part of the Touch the Art series, Feed Matisse’s Fish invites your child to interact with famous paintings.  When my daughter first picked it out, I thought it was a little bit pretentious, but it has turned out to be a lot of fun.  While I don’t expect it to turn her into an art historian overnight, she definitely enjoys looking at all of the pictures, feeling their unique textures, etc.  It is also has an enjoyable rhythm which makes it quite fun to read.  This can make a big difference for parents–especially when you have to read the same book over and over again.
