Arm’s Reach Sleigh Bed Bassinet

Arm's Reach Sleigh Bed Bassinet

I’ve always loved the idea of a co-sleeper, but until now I wasn’t very impressed by the appearance of the ones I’ve seen in stores and friends’ houses.  This Sleigh Bed Bassinet model from Arm’s Reach, however, has me wishing that I didn’t already have a cradle that I love.

Designed for children up to approximately 18 months, this co-sleeper allows you to keep your baby right next to your bed. Because it attaches directly to any size of mattress, it affords nursing moms easier access to their little ones.  It also looks great.

This bassinet co-sleeper comes with a sheet, mattress, and bumper pad.  You can purchase one for $369.99 at armsreach.com.  A number of finishes are available.  You can also purchase a conversion set to transform the co-sleeper into a child-sized love seat when your child outgrows it.

Cariboo Gentle Motions Bassinet

Cariboo Gentle Motions Bassinet Baby by Baby Star

The Cariboo Gentle Motions Bassinet looks so convenient, lightweight, and portable, as it  folds up completely. It could be placed it in the trunk of a car and set up in two minutes. You’ll notice the straps which allow a gentle motion and they’re adjustable if you decide to have the baby’s head higher. It can also be attached to the railing of a crib when you’re transitioning between the bassinette and crib bed.

The bassinet fabric is machine washable and zips off for easy cleaning. It is also eco-friendly, as it is made from sustainable New Zealand Radiata wood. It measures 36″H x 27.5″D x 34″L, and costs $329.95 at CaribooStore.com.

DuoWalker Sky Double Stroller

I love my ridiculous Peg Perego carriage to death, but now that I am going to be faced with two stroller-aged children at the same time, I am lusting after the DuoWalker Sky. I am a sucker for any stroller with a bassinet attachment, so when I saw a double that can accommodate a bassinet, I was absolutely in love. Other features that attract me to this stroller are the bright colors and the large tires. As far as double strollers go, this one looks like it would be relatively easy to maneuver. Unfortunately for me, having spent several thousand dollars on 3 strollers the last time around, I can’t really justify this splurge. The base price is $649.00. The Carrycot Bassinet attachment is an additional $149. Numerous other accessories are available as well. You can buy one at strollers.com.

Phil & Ted’s Big Stroller Adventure

Phil & Ted's Big Stroller Adventure

I highly recommend Phil & Ted’s Sport Stroller for Moms who want to get in shape before baby turns six months old. Most jogging strollers you have to wait until Baby can hold his or her head up well, but Phil & Ted’s has a newborn option that allows Baby to recline and relax while Mom does all the work. All you have to do is unzip and unclip the sides and the stroller turns into bassinet. I took my son on a two mile trek and he fell right asleep. The stroller has air-filled tires which allow for a smoother ride. It is very light weight and easy to handle. Phil & Ted’s also has a major added bonus, a second seat. If you buy the attachable second seat the stroller easily turns into a double stroller. This stroller and only this stroller allows you to have a newborn and a toddler or two toddlers ride comfortably at the same time. You can find these strollers at many upscale baby boutiques. It comes in several different colors and retails for $399.99 and the additional seat is $89.99. It is a favorite of celebrity parents, Brooke Shields, Holly Hunter, Carrie Ann Moss and Russell Crowe.

Cariboo Classic Bassinet

These simple bassinets have recently become quite popular with celebrity parents. Christina Aguilera and Jessica Alba received them as shower gifts and Tori Spelling, Mariska Hargitay, and Jennifer Garner all had them for their infants. The bassinet itself is made of an eco-friendly, sustainable wood from New Zealand. The 100% cotton fabric of the bassinet bag unzips and is machine washable—a must in the early days of leaking diapers and spit up. There are a number of eye-catching fabric choices for the bag. The bag and bassinet are sold separately. The bassinet sells for $424.95 and each bag costs $140. You can purchase them at www.babystar.com.

Peg Perego Culla Carriage System

I may be the only person in America who loves this stroller, but I cannot say enough about it, and I have to put in a good word for it. I wanted a stroller with a true bassinet top and many of the ones I looked at seems very flimsy. I also wanted a stroller with wheels large enough to handle curbs without a struggle. As soon as I saw this system, I knew it was for me. My daughter went right to sleep whenever I took her out in this carriage. It is very well constructed. The outer canopy unzips to reveal a lighter weight net canopy for warmer weather. When your child outgrows the bassinet, there is an upright attachment as well, which is very well cushioned and which can be adjusted to face in either direction. You can also attach a Peg car seat to the chassis. The only down side to this stroller is that it is bulky. You can remove the attachments and fold the chassis, but it is never going to be as compact as most strollers. I keep this one at home for walks and keep a smaller Peg P-3 in my car. You can buy this system for $669.99 at babydealz.com. You will not be disappointed in the quality!
