Baby Gap’s Empire Trench Coat is the quintessential coat for fall. Made in a beautiful shade of red, it is just right for breezy autumn days. It is made from 100% cotton and is machine washable. The sweetest little cherubs greet you upon entering the Baby Gap site; I like to keep my eye on it to see if there are any great sales or promotions going on. This week, when I logged on, I fell in love with the Lion Short Sleep Set. Now that summer finally seems to be here, I find pajamas much like these a necessity. Not too hot, not too cold, but just right. The smiling lion and bright colors are sure to be a hit not only with baby but with you when you’re greeted with them and your sweet angel’s face come morning. I’m not usually a big fan of halter tops or dresses on young children, but this sweet little dress from Baby Gap manages to avoid the spaghetti straps and overly-adult styling that usually turn me off. Instead, its cute plaid fabric and apron style pockets create a very sweet and summery look. This would definitely be a great option in hot weather. Baby Gap is currently having a huge store-wide summer clearance event. They have some pretty significant mark downs on summer favorites like shorts and tees (lots are under $10), that make them competitive with the prices at stores such as Target or Walmart. I have to admit—when I think of The Gap, I think overpriced. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find many deals on Gap.com in the children’s wear section: Play clothes priced at 2 for $20; Sleepers, rompers, and other cute items for under $20; Onesies for as low as $7.99; $3.99 active knit pants; $19.99 Robeez shoes. The only downfall? Sizes are limited.
The piece that really caught my eye in the Sale section was Sand Khaki Floral Beachcomber shorts in sizes all the way from 0-3, 3-6, 6-12, 12-18, and right up to 18-24 months. My husband has a pair of shorts that are similar to these, and for only $12.99, my boys would look awfully cute running along behind him in these Gap shorts. A perfect Kodak moment! Even better? The Navy Floral version is only $7.99. Dressing baby in higher end clothing can be really affordable if you do the legwork and watch the sales!

Gap has announced a voluntary recall on some of its babyGap toggle coats. The toggles on the coats may become detached, posing a choking hazard. The recalled styles include Rose Toggle Hoodie (style 600298), Pink Duffle Coat (style 600344), and Blue Plaid and Mojave Toggle Coat (style 600942). These coats were sold at babyGap, Gap Kids, Gap Stores, and online at Gap.com from October 2008 to April 2009. They were sold in sizes up to 24 months and were priced from $20 to $50. If you purchased one of these coats, you can return it to any babyGap, Gap Kids, or Gap store for a full refund. If purchased online, please contact Gap via their website. If you return the coat before August 31, 2009, Gap will issue you a coupon good for 20% off any regular priced item.

I love these preppy boys’ patchwork shorts from Gap Kids. They are having a big Spring Sale where selected items online are up to 40% off.  Match with a polo shirt, and you have yourself a really smart outfit, not to mention the great colors in the shorts. They have an elastic waistband at the back and a button and zipper combo at the front. After a few days of spring-like temperatures here, returning to chilly winter days has been hard. Luckily, if spring colors are lacking in the landscape, they are cheerfully popping up in spring clothing lines. I am especially enjoying all the bright greens that I’m seeing this season. My most recent find is this great cardigan from Baby Gap. I love the decoratively embellished neckline, and because it is perfect for layering, you can slip it into your child’s wardrobe even before the weather warms up completely. My mom always told me that I looked good in red and apparently our youngest son, who looks like me, followed in my footsteps. Yesterday, he had on a red Baby Gap Sweater Vest with a penguin on it. It really complimented his coloring. Underneath, I paired it with a Tommy Hilfiger Baby white long-sleeved shirt with red and blue T-O-M-M-Y letters all over it and a simple pair of blue pants. Though I could not locate the vest online any longer, there are other cute options in sweater vests for baby boys for just $24.50. My little one is a master of kicking off her socks.  During the day I can somewhat keep it under control by putting her in Robeez. At night, however, I like to have her in footed pajamas.  I’ve been disappointed to discover, however, that many of the brands I have always relied on for cotton footed pajamas no longer make them. I can find lots of fleecy pajamas, and cotton pajamas with no feet, but footed cotton jammies seem to be few and far between.  Baby Gap seems to be the last holdout with regard to this trend.  Thankfully, they are still making them.
