Baby No Bumps Safety Helmet

Baby No Bumps

I had to laugh when I saw this. Baby No Bumps Safety Helmet is something you will never catch me putting on my son; I can’t even imagine being tempted to purchase it. I might just as well put bubble wrap around my child’s head and call it a day. Though mommies do worry over children falling and hurting themselves, I think the traditional child safety measures around the house (plug covers, baby gates, etc.) will suffice. Besides, there are large gaps at the top of the pyramid shape that cover very little of the top of a child’s head, making the helmet fairly pointless.

Should you be interested in this product, you can find it at BabyNoBumps.com for $29.95.

I am a doctor who has bought several of these helmets for my pregnant patients, and my own children and they absolutely love them. I have seen too many head injuries from falls and have seen the after affects from these falls. Back in the 17th century, mothers made these from layers of cloth and of course now we have foam. Too many hard surfaces around now not to be concerned about the needs of your child. We now peace of mind. We have tried other products but they were too hot and they would not leave them on. Baby No Bumps is a winner.

My wife purchased this hat for our toddler. It seemed very silly at first, and much too over-protective. However, I can vouch for its efficacy, for Mackenzie has fallen time and time again, and she gets up none the worst for wear. No goose eggs, no tears.
Thank you to the creators of this products. It may look silly, but it works!

I work in the E.R and if you saw what I see when small children have serious falls, no one would be embarrassed to take care of the precious child in whatever way you can. The shell that covers their undeveloped heads is as thick as a fingernail and it can break very easily and when it does it can damage the brain. They used to have helmets back in the 17th century because of hard surfaces. We worry too much about what other people think instead of what is best for our children. When the brain is damaged they now are thinking that this could be the reason for learning problems when they go to school.

I am a mother of one, My son starting having seizures at 2 months of age, he is now 3 and has been going to therapy school since 9 months of age his seizures are under control now but just incase my son has to wear a helmet. He loves to wear his helmet and I think its very selfish that you would not want your child wear a safety helmet you should see the other choices of helmets there are. If it can save yours childs life why not? and some children dont have a choice so you really shouldnt laugh about it. The helmet protects the main parts that could give your child a serious head injury or more serious hits to the head because just one good hit in the right place you would have wished you put that funny thing on your childs head.

Excellent point, Mother Peace. In your case, I’m sure an item such as this one comes in very handy. However, I do still think the fabric is terribly dated and adorning it in something modern and manufacturing it in a more sleek design might make it more desirable. If a child must wear a helmet, can it not be an attractive one? Also, I remain concerned that the open areas would allow for a child’s skull to meet sharp corners. Thanks for your comment. I’m glad that this topic is attracting such interest, as it seems it is an important one to so many.

I purchased this product for my 9 month od daughter last month because she started crawling and standing, and not to mention, falling back on her head.
I saw other products but thought I’d try yours mainly because of the price and I liked the idea that the hat didn’t cover the entire head, allowing the scalp to breath. It turns out that this is a much better design in another way, too. My baby fell face first, but because the bumper on the forehead protrudes outward, the first thing that hit our ceramic tile floor was the bumper and not my daughter’s nose or forehead. We’ve also gotten nice comments about the look of the hat and how cute it is.
