Recently, while on a trip to an out-of-state children’s museum, my son tried weaving with a loom for the first time. Much to my surprise, he loved it! In fact, my feet were tired standing there watching him work with the loom for an hour, as one of the staff members guided him when he had problems. Since then, I have been looking for a small loom for him to try at home, nothing expensive. Yesterday on MagicCabin.com, I found this Potholder Loom. Recommended for ages 6 and up, the set features an authentic 7 1/2 ” square metal loom; colorful, machine-washable cotton loops; a weaving hook, and instructions for making three 6″ square potholders (something usable that kids can proudly point to when Mom or Dad uses them and say, “I made that!”). At $19.98 for the set, it’s an affordable gift my son will find under our tree this Christmas.
