SIGG Little Kids Reusable Bottle

The BPA scare has affected more than just baby bottles, so many people (me included) are left scrambling to find alternatives for our toddlers and older children. One such product that I recently discovered is this bottle made by the Swiss company, SIGG. SIGG’s bottles are made of aluminum, and promise to be completely taste neutral—so drinks taste great.
Best of all, the company guarantees that there will be no leaching of any dangerous materials—which included BPA, BPB, and phthalates. The bottle also has a double seal to prevent leaks. Some, such as the “Bonne Nuit” model pictured here, even glow in the dark. Many other fun, child-friendly designs are available.
This size holds .3L. You can buy one for $15.95 at reusablebags.com. For an additional $5.95, you can purchase a Kids Grip accessory that transforms the bottle into a sippy cup that is easier for little hands to hold on to. With so many features, it’s no wonder that these Earth-friendly cups are catching on with celebrity parents like Madonna.

The SIGG bottles are cute, but I’m still leary of the aluminum with my children, especially since it still has an inner coating. From articles I’ve read, scientists and doctors are still stating that stainless is the absolute safest material for bottles and food safe storage (other than glass, of course…but then you have to worry about breakage, esp around kids).
I did lots of research and although these SIGG for kids were in my top 3, I ultimately decided to go with the stainless steel Safe Sippy cup which is stylish, safe, and very durable from what I’ve seen so far (my kids aren’t the gentlest in the world with their belongings). Plus, I haven’t seen any leakage which is always a plus.
Here’s a photo of the Safe Sippy bottles I bought (I got pink and green)… hope this helps other confused moms like I was! Keep up the great reviews!

I personally recommend stainless steel water bottles from CynerGreen. They come in really fun shapes and lots of different sizes and colors. They have bottles for both kids and adults. They also have a kids line called CGKidz which is designed by an 11-year old girl that includes a stainless sippy cup and smaller bottle. They are also a totally green company which is important to me.
