V.Reader Interactive E-Reading System

I’ve been considering buying my 8 year old son his own Kindle Fire, not only to encourage reading but also for him to use as an mp3 player and video player. I just saw this V.Reader Interactive E-Reading System and think this might be a good alternative, at least for younger children. Recommended for ages 3 to 7 years, the V. Reader features a 3.5 inch touch screen, and plays fully animated torybook cartridges with story narration, character voices, vivid graphics, and exciting sounds and music. You can download additional e-books, avatars, and themes while tracking your child’s progress on VTech’s Learning Lodge Navigator. It has a USB port and SD memory card slot for expansion, and features multimedia capabilities including a photo viewer, video player, and art and writing programs. V-Tech is currently offering the V.Reader on sale at $34.99 (regularly $49.99). Check it out at VTechKids.com.
